That bit about -Ive just wrecked my credibility, said its 8 weeks, delivered in 3- I have never thought about that in that way... Maybe its how you communicate it though. FWIW I never doubted your credibility based upon that, it sounds like someone would have to be a dick to make that leap. If anything my perception of your dedication rating went through the ceiling. I wouldnt consider that delivering 8 weeks in 3 is impossible given unlimited budget (pretty much what was said) so Id probably get some other people in to help and charge more as well as say 2 weeks is unlimited hours, each person works on satellite features then Id build the core.
I charge more for -rush jobs-, this has me thinking Im not sure I should... My definition of rush is -is this needed within 3 months?- Its more of a scheduling priority thing. I have previously (2012 + 2013) pulled 90 hour weeks. Now I just wont pull 60-90 hour weeks. In-fact Id sooner die of starvation from failing than work that many hours (historically even slaves have not worked 18 hour days 5 days a week). Nowdays If 50 happens more than twice in 3 months Id slam the breaks hard and just bump my rate (economic theory I am the limited resource, so theoretically given a good enough network, I have unlimited value).
