I feel like I should state this that anyone watching this video, please do not misunderstand what this video is showing you. This video is not showing you how to do DevOps. DevOps is a culture and not a job role, any company that offers you a DevOps job, run away as they're essentially trying to bypass the more challenging aspect which is transforming a company working culture in which developer and operations are collaborating. What this video is showing you for the most part is the responsibilities that a platform engineer would have to take on. I don't know a single software engineer, that works in a company that boasts a DevOps culture that has to worry about switching and routing. If they do, then they are trying to overload their developers with additional work that they don't need to do instead of hiring SRE' or platform engineers.

Seven minutes in, and just reviewed the section on -cent os- and why we chose it... I get it, makes sense, however in relation to Linux, does it matter? I'm running Buster, Debian... Between Ubuntu, CentOs, etc... aren't these Linux distributions similar enough that having a specific one is erroneous? Granted, things like package managers are different but the underlying architecture is basically the same. Not trolling, not being difficult, simply asking.

Most of the course is about Linux Administration. There is hardly any DevOps tools had discussed by him. Title is preety confusing for guys who are searching for DevOps materials. Kindly rename title to something - Linux with Virtualization Step by Step guide with networking solutions-

Thanks for sharing this. They are really helpful. One questions on using multiple adapters. Let's say I have two adapter setup in a VM and both have internet access. How does VM pick which adapter to use when I try to access internet and is this deterministic?

This video is for beginners not for pro.

Can you do devops work in a macbook m1(ARM based) or you need a Windows machine with linux? Please advise. I'm planning to buy a new laptop for devops work. So want to know.
reply

Beginner to the world of devops so I have a question. If I am on a Mac (which I know doesn't run on Linux), is this course still worth taking?
