you will learn how to Calculate Percentage of Total. A very common scenario is when you have a total in a single cell at the end of a table. If you are trying to calculate the percentage based on that cell, here is a quick way to do it. Type = then select the cell next to it. Add a divided sign then type $B$10. This is the location of the total number. We use a relative cell position for the first one but want the total number to be always the same cell. Next, we take the bottom right square of this cell and drag it down as needed. This will calculate the amount across multiple lines. Even if working with percentages has never been your favorite kind of math, by using these basic percentage formulas you can get Excel to do the work for you! Is there a way to have the percentage auto populate if you dont have the values entered? Your example, lets say you wouldnt have calculations for Feb-Dec until the end of that said month, could you enter a formula that would add the previous month AND also include the current months numbers to come up with a percentage?

how can I get the percentage of names of my employees that show up on an excel sheet? as an example one person name shows up 20 times, another shows up 10 and the third shows up 80 times? not good with excel, so I'm asking question to find out please.
