Confused by the title, which suggests a solution for buffering, but the video appears to be a walkthrough of settings which may or may not help if you choose to try different options. Did I miss the suggested optimal settings
My problem may be very specific to Firestick (4k) as I am getting a 6-8second delay from a stream that is internal to my home network. A laptop (on the same network) has about 1 sec delay, although using a different app as I haven't got VLC working as it complains 'unable to load the MRL', which I understand is a Windows Firewall problem()

I just bought a panasonic blue ray PVR and it has TV anytime function on it, unfortunately the panasonic app doesnt work, can't login to the piece of crap, HOWEVER VLC player can access my pvr to stream live tv recorded videos etc to my Samsung mobile, the problem is it works at home but when I'm away vlc says no net work connection, how can I fix this issue, thanks.

How do you get the VLC player to stay on I installed it and I watch a try to watch something and I use the player but only plays for about 5 seconds and then it cuts off how do you get it to continue to keep playing I have an Android box that I'm trying to watch it on

Vlc I've used since college it's free open source and because of it being open source u can help develop for it if u download there development kit on a pc it's always run flawlessly for me and I've been using it since the beta stages

In my oppinion there are only two really important settings at VLC for Andoid TV to improving network streaming.
1) Hardware Acceleration to Full acceleration
2) Advanced / Network caching value set to 10000

If ur gonna play media on TV might as well use Plex or Emby or stream it from phone or pc. Who plugs USB Drives in this day and age unless it's some kind of confidential stuff.

VLC is a fantastic player especially for its zoom and slow motion; most other players only have one or the other feature. BUT when will it ever be able to play 1080p BD movies

Smb1 should be unchecked u forgot most imp part and play some 4k file and show if it can play hevc over network fire stick using vlc, mine does not
