Fire TV Stick 4K Max Review It's Better ... But Is It ENOUGH Better I have 3 and then lite model is about 3 years old and heading for the dust bin.
Reason is, I cant load BINGE I cant load KAYO ,I cant load seven plus and you cant ask it to install all apps and you cant adjust the audio syncing , and it wont run on wifi 5 and 6 in other words it cripples your smart tv. Well you ask why use a firestick on a smart Tv.Easy answer you can use wifi5 and 6 its faster than the smart tv and, this is the big one as your set ages you can lose wifi connectivity, yes, it becomes flaky, and your infrared control sensor gets worse as the set ages , so instead of paying for expensive repairs to the set, or replacing the set just buy a firestick problem solved.and oh yes it adds HDR Dolby Vision HDR10 Dolby AtMos.\r\n

Biggest differences functionally is that this adds support for dolby atmos to netflix which they didn't have on the regular 4k stick. They also added a very nice hdmi arc feature where if you plug this into your HDMI ARC port and you have say your echo studio or 2 paired up with it they will now work with say your cable box or bluray player which is a very cool feature so they're not just locked to the fire tv, well they are but they're more functional now. This feature isn't available on their other streaming devices not even on the firecube as far as I'm aware.

Im upgrading to a 4k max from a 2nd gen as it barely functioning now my tightness has stopped me until now . Based on these soecs im expecting a huge performance boost, but what you dont really expand on is the extra RAM, since im a pc geek i can tell you the extra ram is very important it keeps everything stable, and is effectively the fuel tank, the bigger the fuel tank the harder a processor and gpu can work without running out of gas

I’m new to fire sticks. Why would someone buy this if they have a 4k smart tv Or why would someone buy this version if they have a older TV like from 2015 for example that isn’t 4k This fire stick is 4k and wouldn’t you only get true 4k on a 4k TV And every 4k TV is a smart TV, so what is the point here with all this fire stick talk especially with 4k models

I have 1 of each fire stick (except lite and cube) and the basic stick is noticeably and tolerably slow. The 4k is good, but a $10 more is just barely worth it. The 4k Max is only worth its' $55 price if you like to watch a lot of highly cinematic movies like Avatar or the Hobbit on a name brand big screen tv like the 75 Samsung tv I have it on.

I have a regular 4k and would not buy another one. The regular sticks perform much better and are more reliable. My 4k is hidden in my office and my standard sticks are in the living room and more active areas where we continuously run music videos or our picture library on amazon prime. The 4k stick cannot be trusted to do this task.

does the 4k Max have the Developer Options menu. Because that option is not available on the stick i purchased, I need ot be able to download apps from unknown sources. Can you confirm on the 4k max is the Devloper Option menu available or not If it is , it appears I purchased a stick that is defective and has a problem

I got one of these for the upstairs bedroom. I put PlutoTV, Tubi, Plex, AppleTV and VUDU on it. For what I need, works perfectly, was a breeze to set it up. It seems like it runs a lot faster and more smoothly than my 2020 Roku Ultras. I think I paid $27 total for it. Grabbed it while it was on sale.

But the internal storage is still 8 GB and it shows 5 GB and I show 2 GB with apps I have which is not many. They should at least increase to 32 GB for this price and increase speed a little more. So I won't be investing in a new one now. Maybe wait until the next upgrade most likely next year.

I'm totally confused! I've never been able to toggel my amazon firestick with the subtitles, I only get the' off' button, I can never get the 'On' toggle to work, so, is my firestick broken or do I need a new one Thanks for the advice, but still confused! haha

My Fire Stick 4k Max doesn't have a Hulu button on the remote. It has Peacock there instead and i can't add Hulu to the Fire Stick home screen. i have to use the microphone to find Hulu when I turn my TV on. Do any of the other streaming devices work better with Hulu
reply

I would say most of the time people are not necessarily thinking about upgrading their thinking about getting a new one for an additional TV or getting a new one for their primary TV and moving the older one to one of their older TVs. At least that's my guess.

I will stick with the regular 4 K. I only use it for prime, Hulu, Tubi, Pluto and Xfinity stream anyway so the regular 4 K is good enough for me. I have an Xfinity set top for my bedroom and the stick for the living room. Works out well.

Got a refurb 4K Max for $30.00. Works fine. The main reason I changed from 4K to 4K max is the ease of adding storage. All done for you by the Fire Stick not all the messy stuff needed to add space on the 4K.

I purchased two different onn players one stick and one box and both crashed within the first 30 days. I also got a lot of buffering. Not bad for twenty bucks but nothing compared to the firestick max.

This thing is amazing. I bought two, the speed, picture quality and ability to side-load leaves my Panasonic Smart TV for dead. Best streaming device I've owned (and I've owned a LOT).

I’m in a room with weak wifi connectivity. How does this compare to Roku streaming stick express 4k or ultra LT. In regards to my streaming buffering Trying to avoid buffering live TV.

I purchased the Amazon Fire TV box back in 2015 and am finally looking at upgrading the old thing now as it’s struggling now. This 4K Max Fire stick will be a huge leap for me.

My Amazon smart tv is telling me I need to update to use the browser, but when I check for updates it says it's up to date. I can't use the browser at all now

Firesticks actuasuck unless you only use minimal apps and how about a qwuirty keyboard ffs on the remote. Why is the remote so lame for functions.
reply

The memory on these things should be doubled. I still get the circle of death interfering with shows every couple of minutes on my 4K.

Just purchased a new Samsung 75 smart tv, so I’m not sure that I would need one, what would I get that my tv doesn’t already have

Just bought one February 9, 2023 target spend over $30 get free five dollars and then use red card 5% off got it for 30 bucks with tax
reply

if you're going from the 4K to the 4K max, its worth it cause of the storage gain (16gb vs 8gb). which will make your apps run faster.
reply

not bad for there cost prefer an Nvidia shield still to any amazon devices without amazon constantly messing on with there settings
reply

well explained ,I couldnt make decision on choosing between 4k or 4kmax, after ur video i.ll go the 4k ,you solved my hard to make decision

I bought this a year ago...RETURNED it because there was no UHD support for VUDU, does anybody know if there is now
THANK YOU

What a waste. The picture quality is so dark and dim when you're watching anything through the fire stick. Even with HDR switched off
