Great video - thank you! I've got a question: I've been screen recording several Google slide shows and I usually just use my mouse or the arrows on my keyboard to clikc from one slide to the next (never any automatic presentation mode) BUT I have had the following problem: very often wehn I do this the slides just seem to ski ahead without me doing any thing, i.e. while I record I suddenly see the next slide although I haven't clicked on anything. The weirdest thing is though: when I later check the video, it showed the original slide! This is really annyoing though because I don't see the correct slide with the info on my slide while filming! :-( Has this ever happened to you and do you know how to fix this problem? It never happened to me when I used other screen recorders or when I just present my Google slides show via Zoom.

--MAC USER BLACKSCREEN-- If you are on Mac and the backscreen issue. 1. Click apple icon in Left top corner. 2. System preferences 3. Security and Privacy 4. Privacy tab --> to screen recording 5. Allow OBS access 6. Restart/reopen OBS. (If OBS option is not listed, restart laptop)

Thank you for sharing a great video! I have found an easier way that my teacher taught me in the past. He told us to start a Google Meets meeting, and there should be an option to present the screen you prefer. I believe this is also possible with using Zoom. Hope this helps! :)

Hi Kevin,
Great information as always! I do have an unrelated question though. Does Win 10 Pro offer an app for a scheduled shut down/re-starts at specific times? Perhaps something with a brief screen countdown clock for the user to see and prepare for? Thank you, Eric -

Thanks for the great tutorial. It spoke exactly to the needs of an audience already knows why and what they want - that is, recording a powerpoint or slides presentation with themselves speaking in a box in the corner. It didn't waste a second of my time.

Kevin, do you know of an easy way to hide the playback menu that appears in the lower left corner every time you move the cursor? I know you can change the URL to /preview but I-m hoping for an easier way. Thanks!

Hi... thanks for the tutorial. Using a Mac, I only get Mic/Aux under Audio Mixer. How can I get the System Audio? I need to record the Google Slides sound from a video without using my mic for it. Thanks!
reply

Are you able to record yourself somehow without a mic or will that not work? Because when I look at the sound settings and try speak up the bar is not moving on the Mic/Aux

I like it, but why not just use one of the many screencasting Chrome extensions like Loom or Screencastify? Seems like a simpler option, as does Quicktime on a Mac -
