Having fixed IP Addresses for your network devices will make it really easy for you to specify the internet bandwidth control over the network. Having Fixed IP Addresses you can easily manage, what speed you want to distribute for which devices.
Do note that, this video is just for information because every router has its own configuration. You may get a brief idea about how to control your internet speed, but the procedure may be different for your router.
In this video, you will first learn to enable Bandwidth Control and then we will set different speeds to different devices according to their IP range.
For instance, I will configure the following rules to distribute the internet speed over my network.
I am receiving a total of 4 Mbps Upload and 12 Mbps Download speed from my Internet Service Provider. I have a total of 9 computers and 2 android mobiles in my network to whom I have already applied fixed IP Addresses. I will first specify that a maximum of 30 devices can connect over my network. Then for one of my computer names SERVER having an IP address 192.168.1.100, I want to allow a maximum of 2 Mbps Upload Speed and 4 Mbps of maximum download speed. For the rest 10 devices, I want to configure a maximum of 1 Mbps download speed for each. Except for that, if more devices get connected to my network (having an address range between 192.168.1.112 to 192.168.1.130), I want o share a total of 2 Mbps of maximum shared download speed for all of them.
You are advised to plan the configuration first before you start applying the rules Date: 2022-03-31
