Would love an update. This seems to be a really good topic to do once a year, maybe twice a year. There should be people doing this form of caparison. In doing a search for this topic, i found you -other- video on this topic only comparing GOOGLE to DUCKDUCKGO. I have heard some things about DUCKDUCKGO, however, in my experience DUCKDUCKGO lacks features that GOOGLE has for as much as you'd want to use anything other than GOOGLE.
These Features that GOOGLE has i have amazingly not yet compared to see if any of the other search engines have anything even close to.

search engines were designed to be a research tool, by using publish-
or posted date sorting to keep updated on current research data, but-
now these search engines no longer allow the dates to be used to-
sort, this action keeps people from being able to find research by date-
and leads to the dumb down of society and only biased and-
propaganda form of information will be available by doing this-

Really I find that google gives a lot more relevant results most of the time. Especially when I have vague searches.
This is a problem of convenience and google is better at it.
Sure when it comes to politics and all that maybe not but I think for someone like me I'd rather have answers relevant to medical stuff and quick answers for technical problems and relevant shopping results.

I dont know if you have revisited this, but when performing the same exercise in April 2020, I notice that DuckDuckGo also seems to censor autocomplete results. When typing -Trump is an-. the word -idiot- or any other offensive remark does not appear. If actually start typing the word idiot autocomplete stops showing suggestions.

Great compilation. two quick questions: (a) found any answer why DDG wont show 4chan website - guessing that is QAnon website? (b) DDG has option to use Google search discretely by including -? - in the beginning like -? blah blah -. under this circumstances will this not be equivalent to using StartPage for google searches?

Right side panel (13: 17) contains a link to 4chan. It's in the Wikipedia article, right at the top of your search results. The second line of text.
For me, this link is not present in the right side box, but it is the top link when I search for 4chan.

I'm tired of hearing about the 'algorithm'. Even Google in its new privacy terms admits that it makes editorial decisions through direct insertion, especially with COVID-19 related news. Duckduckgo uses an algorithm. Google uses slave labour.

I personally us DuckDuckGo but there is a trend that is going on. Whenever I search on duckduckgo the side bar will almost always be Wikipedia. For example if I search up Donald trump a Wikipedia page shows up before his website.
