Should You Crack & Pirate Software? - Techlore Should you be pirating and cracking your software? Is getting programs like Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, Photoshop, and anything else moral and socially accepted? This question may be more complex than it seems. Disclaimer: Pirating software is illegal, and there can be consequences to doing it. Like you, with whom I completely agree, I've done both paid and cracked, each under what I consider appropriate circumstances. I've used cracked software from giant corporations (who can afford to charge less but they don't) when I need it but make no money from it, and I've paid big bucks for software x (from a small company, btw) when I've used it to make money in my profession x. The latter is something my parents' generation called pride of ownership.
Software for blind people (who don't usually have a lot of money) is unconscionably expensive. I know someone who strongly objects to cracked and pirated software, and yet he has offered to get cracked versions for his blind friends. One has to be pretty heartless to have a problem with that.

More reasons why you shouldn't download pirated / cracked software:
1: they could contain viruses especially if they are EXE files
2: they can contain adware or things that can slow down your PC
3: they could contain trojans which pretend to be the app you want but in reality are actually malicious files that can harm your pc, disrupt network connections, and can steal sensitive data
4: it's honestly satisfying to buy games and plus when you buy them you can support the people who made them! :3

I'm 15 years old and have only just started drawing digitally after 6 years of being traditional and at first I was using Krita, which is a really good free program but I found it didn't have all the affects I was after so I ended up cracking Clip Studio Paint. - It feels really immoral, but once I start doing commissions (or get the money some other way) I will absolutely pay for it 100%.
Should I delete it and make do with what I have? (': Will I get arrested/sued? (':

I believe Adobe's business practices are more immoral than piracy. They've patented a lot of the features that make their programs essential for many different things, and so it's impossible for free software to compete. Because they know that most of their users can't switch away from them, they price gouge. They're functionally a monopoly. Piracy is the only way to fight back.

I personally would like to paid for the software owner but I really couldn't effort for it yet, so would you recommend me to still use the creak software bro?
I'm sure that in coming 5 or 6 years if I could have a good income job or business, I will apply the way you suggested bro.
I am really feel bad that I have creak software. ----

Never going to pay for a subscription of software. I think it's a dog shit model. Works for some people but just let me buy any version when it comes out because I don't need all the updates. Also, I'm using it for my own shit and not getting any financial gain in the slightest from using it. If I was, I'd probably get it.

Thing is smaller people would be a lot more willing to buy if it wasn't 100% subscription based lmfao. But i guess going sub based makes a killing off the companies that use adobe products. Because they don't really care about the average 1 user. But I do respect this opinion, makes sense

Is openOBS useful enough? I'm no producer but it seems like it can do quite a bit. It's kinda sad to hear your not all FOSS (sans review software of course, but proprietary software in your workflow; there must be a better way)

Is using the pirated version even safe tho? I do not see any comments about that? Like do they even care or just give up knowing millions if not more people use programs pirated?
reply

-Crack everything- so it's at least source available. It's arguable weather you should use them or not, but we should know of they have (i. e. bloat, spy, or malware)
