Facial Recognition Advertising Is Actually a Thing - The Hated One Facial recognition advertising as depicted in Minority Report is coming to your local stores sooner than you thought. The technology is becoming so mainstream it will become a part of the new social contract. Several US retailers, including Walgreens and Kroger, are piloting facial recognition advertising in physical stores. The goal is to use all available information from the cameras to target customers with relevant ads in a similar way online advertising targets Internet users. Apps on your phone can use your high definition selfie camera to track your emotional expressions of your face as you listen to music, and suggest you playlists that correspond to your mood. A social media platform can track your face as you are typing that comment or text with your friends, and suggest you mood-specific ads. All major technology companies are heavily investing into the development of facial recognition, including Google, Apple, Amazon, Samsung or Microsoft. With their massive reach on the market, it will soon become extremely difficult for you to avoid being identified every step of your way if you want to be a functioning individual F-lix: IR Camera imbedded in cell phone / laptop screen since 2004. How to opt out? List of cell phone / screens that doesn't have this tech? I encourage you to research this further, since this is how most the FR data is gathered. Even if you put a tape in front of the visible camera, it still doesn't hide the camera embedded in the screen.

Mr. Feynman once said that every tech is a key to heaven and hell well face network recognition is a double to hell. Whatever benefit it may have is outweighed in kilograms by the negatives. It tracks you, monitors you, records your every move, it can be used to create an environment where people who are against it are isolated so they cant group up to unworn its grip on basic human life. Anyone in the future with any sense of liberty will have a deep yearning for the past where their iPhones weren't their wardens. The alien observers who look over us will laugh hysterically at badly we bondaged ourselves in our own technology. If we were to ever escape it the figures who led us out would make religions. Let this not be our horrific money milking freedom raping future, I know I'm doing dramatics but big ornate statements are the only way to fully convey the mistake we are making by marching forward with this diabolical tech.
The best way to solve this is to outlaw all facial recognition except the low-level safe stuff like Instagram filters and face passwords. Better yet we can have Congress and the Supreme Court decide what gray area face-scanning stays and goes, but we must get rid of all the surveillance and target advertising shit.

coca cola, ford, heineken, ikea, samsung, disney and mcdonalds use face recognition to monitor user reactions? well, so, every time i buy something from or made by coca cola, ford, heineken, ikea, samsung, disney or mcdonalds, i support their use of facial recognition.
ok, i gotchu, i will vote with my money and don't shop for these brands. it's simple, actually - spend money elsewhere, shop local, shop small brands.

I think people psychologically feel that they-ve beaten the system if they manage to get a discount. Like they can laugh that they-ve angered the corporation for getting it cheaper than they should-ve. But that-s never the case. The corporations always laugh at how easily they can play people just by offering them a few pennies.
