DuckDuckGo's Desktop Browser is Almost Here - Surveillance Report 68 - Techlore This week we cover DuckDuckGo's Desktop browser, updates to the Log4shell/Log4j Java exploit, data breaches, and more. Happy Holidays! The: I'm going to be honest with you lads, if the price of 2FA is using Google's application which a lot of companies and services are using these days I'm not sure the trade-off between security and allowing their application to get its tendrils into more of your information is a great one. And even greater problem is for people like me who use de-Googled phones and won't allow anything from Google on it.
And as a Canadian I was seriously disheartened by the news that they are tracking our phones for -contact tracing-. I'm not surprised, of course, but it was another depressing bit of news.

It seems to me that limiting the number of bits of encryption is kind of pointless, since for any properly designed encryption algorithm, you can simply use layered encryption to lengthen the key size (see triple-DES. Sure it is a bit slower, but honestly probably not too much considering modern hardware encryption modules (and even software encryption with modern CPUs)

FYI: Headphones to block microphone does not work. Could be because our devices are compromised by some special-level persistent threat, but idk when that began implementation. We've tried all the possible headphone jack tricks to no avail, since a good while back. Test it, don't count on it.

Honestly if it isn't compatible with extensions or doesn't have native ublock origin integration, they might as well not even try. The ddg browser on android is cool and all but it has subpar adblocking which makes it useless to me.

So let me see, DuckDuckgo, a an Internet privacy company is developing a privacy-focused browser, but one that won't be available on the most privacy-focused OS! Well screw you DuckDuckGo. But anyway, great episode guys.

honestly it doesn't bother me in the slightest that we only get bad audio as apposed to a good cam and mic, the fact that your even recording at all on Christmas day is nothing short of true dedication.

16: 27 What you said here is not true and not what stands in DuckDuckGo's blog entry. They won't build a rendering engine from scratch, but instead they will use the the OS-provided rendering engines.

I don't care that my friends and family know that I've been just seen or yesterday. I care about the company keeping my complete history with everything I do forever.

I-d be perfectly happy with Brave if they built a persistent user agent spoofing feature into the browser and added auto scrolling for their Linux version.

What if Have I been Pawned becomes Pawned? The passwords that have been pawned would be leaked and pawned again. Interesting
