THESE Google Apps Are Spying on You! - Surveillance Report 81 - Techlore
video description
The internet is very decentralized & it's really impossible for countries to lockdown internet traffic, if bypassing blocks becomes the norm then countries will just give up. Even Chinas great firewall is quite permeable.
The internet is far more decentralized then we give it credit.

Oh, the fake kidnapping thing finally reached there? I always wondered why I didn't hear any stories on it in countries like the US.
Just so people know. the fake kidnapping call scam is over a decade old in Brazil now. Several years ago I received half a dozen of those, I went ahead and asked directly to police if there was something I could do to help investigators to go after people doing it, basically they couldn't do anything about it. The call likely originated from some smuggled burner phone inside a prison and it was unlikely to be caught before it was wasted.
A few groups have been arrested, a precedent in law has passed, and the thing more or less died out because nowadays everyone knows about this sort of thing. but every few years the practice pops up again with some variation to it.
Victims are in the hundreds of thousands if not millions. Anyways, just so you know. It tends to get grandmas and grandpas disproportionately. and it's very crude in execution. Criminals just dial random numbers and from start just scream stuff and try to convince you that it's your kid who is being held captive by kidnappers yadda yadda.
So, I dunno how sophisticated it would really get. then again, this is the land of credit card cloning and using entire ATM front case pieces to hide a spying device to get your credit card password, so yeah. I guess when deepfake becomes convenient and streamlined enough to execute, it'll get used by criminals here too.

In relation to the -Telegram case in Brazil-, what really happens is that the Federal Supreme Court (STF) practically rebelled and has been acting extremely aggressively, even outside the Brazilian Constitution, arresting people for crimes that do not exist and releasing large criminals. It's been tense around here. Many people are already afraid of being persecuted for posting opposing opinions and criticisms on their social media.
They even demanded that Telegram delete a post in which the President of the Republic presents a report from the Federal Police in which they identified and attested to insecurities in the electoral system, discovered in an investigation. It is already widely perceived here in Brazil that political persecution is taking place. The Supreme Court persecutes journalists, activists, arrests and confiscates property of citizens and congressmen, censors some newspapers and tries at all costs to override other institutions of the Legislative and Executive, and even to overthrow the President.

I-ve been hearing about Big Brother since the seventies. Now I know it-s here. G-GLE!
I wouldn-t trust a-le either! They scan ALL your photos! Every picture has code that tells them where the pictures are taken and where you are! And if you took pictures of a political convention they don-t like, you go on the -list-. The -fanatic list- deserving to be watched! Like a good parent not wanting their little kids to learn about questionable things in school! OMFW! Thank you for your exposing these things.

KOSA is going to get abused hard by those who seek to invade privacy. Parents should be the arbiters of what their kids consume, not the government, and if parents are not monitoring their kids online activities, that is on the parent. I do not think kids should have portable internet accessible devices but there does not need to be a law to prevent that.

I don't like shilling Apple. They are the new IBM and dirty in many ways. Their walled garden is an offense to anyone that cares about software power to the people. I would be better served by info on how to have the most secure/private android as is possible.
Also if I load calyxos on a Pixel phone I don't have to fool around with a custom ROM right?

While I'm all for child protection, anything that Blackburn has anything to do with is garbage and not to be trusted. Also, that Obama deepfake used Peel's real voice impersonation of Obama. He's just that good at doing his voice. The audio deepfake stuff wasn't as far advanced then as it is now. Now, it's actually starting to get a little scary.

Trying to monitor a child, teenager phone usage is impossible unless you physically take all devices away. I don-t recommend that as these devices are how we communicate.
There does need to be restrictions for websites and apps for those under 18. It could be a multi tiered. 13-17, 9-12, under 9.

What concerning is that every other phone manufacturer pushing Google dailer and messages app as default. The app sucks anyway TBH. Gone or the days these brands working on any app. Too much power to Google. I miss CyanogenMod/Os. Kirt McMaster got lot of smack for being vocal but he was right about Google.

lol.
you're not sure if Google is going to change their policies?
I guarantee they will change their policies.
That's what happens every time they get caught.
you just have to erase the word -policies- and insert the word -spy technique-
and as you know, spying is their policy
