Telegram is an app with origins in Russia. The other part of the problem is that it has end-to-end encryption disabled by default and in order to activate it a user has to start a secret chat. Many users are completely unaware of this issue.
I'd like to also be sure this encryption is sth real rather than a gimmick to make people feel safe.

I dont really have anything against my goverment gathering infotmation about me, since I have nothing to hide. but I DO HAVE a problem with companies gathering information about me.
