Top 8 Affinity Photo Features That Might Just Convince You To Switch from Photoshop - Envato

Affinity Photo isn't the first photo-editing program to claim it can stand toe to toe with Adobe's Photoshop for a fraction of the price, but it may be the first to back up that claim with pure, uncompromising photo-editing power. Boasting unique features like a saveable undo history and PSD Import/Export options. And with just a one-time affordable fee, it can be much more financially appealing than Photoshop's monthly subscription plan. But can a program be just as powerful at only a fraction of the price of its competition? Well. I think maybe so! And I have 8 reasons that might convince you as well. You can find all the resources shown in today's video down below! If you've made the decision to switch to Affinity Photo be sure to also watch our Affinity Photo 1. 7 Quick Start Guide

I bought Luminar for its Sky Replacement and Sky Augmentation. i found that these functions of Luminar have limitations which I can work around using Photoshop's ability to 1. Select subject, 2. Select Color Range which has a hilights option which I can fill with a shade of blue and 3. Content-Aware crops which let me add an area to the top of photos filled with blue when the photo has short skies and then go back to the original borders once I have tricked Luminar into replacing the sky.
So, I use Luminar as a filter rather than standalone which is fine because I also use Topaz Denoise AI, Sharpen AI, etc as filters. Could I do that in Affinity Photo. I am an amateur with a ton of saved photos with bad or no sky.

I am a graphic designer and to be honest it was a huge step for me to switch adobe's programs, but at the same time i was just fed up by their expensive prices. Thus, i gave affinity a shot, and guess what? I freaking loved it! The platforms look very similar and you don't feel as if it's your first time on it if you're already familiar with adobe's softwares. Luckily i was exposed to affinity during this quarantine, and i found they were selling everything for 25$ so i grabbed both Photo and Designer. I couldn't be more happier.

Affinity is great, I have all their stuff. And Photo is just as good as PS. But if you're a painter, go ahead and try out Krita. Best brush engine available on any program. And it's free, and you can use it on ALL PC platforms, including Linux. For iPad, procreate is the best for painting. Although I do use affinity photo sometimes if I'm already in it.

photoshop is always the best. it was always been the industry standard. If anyone looks for a job for image editing sure you will need to have the photoshop knowledge and not affinitiy's and even not any other like Gimp's. But if you are on a situation when photoshop isn't accessible affinity can be the best photoshop clone

One thing I don't like about Affinity Photo is when you activate the Stabiliser, and that string is attached to the mouse pointer, similar to Sketchbook pro. Photoshop had it in the 2018 version, but they saw it was bad and removed it in the 2019 and 2020 versions. You should also remove it from Affinity Photo.

It's yours to keep once you pay for it, but what about future updates? Will there be fees or will the updates be free? I'm thinking about getting Affinity Photo as I've seen lots of good things about it. Thank you very much for the fantastic video, you're very articulate!

Your video is excellent! I already use AP, and I am learning and finding the tools I need. So far great software. I am replacing Adobe with all Affinity software. Premiere and After FX with Davinci Resolve, Modo with Blender. Many options that are changing the standards.

Thank you for this video! Can I use the same brushes in Affinity Photo that I use (or Made myself) in Photoshop? Does Fontself work as well in Affinity Photo? Its an external programm that you can link to Photoshop to make your own fonts.

Moved over a couple of years ago - couldn't be happier - it's a fantastic programme which can do all I need for a one off payment. Great business model for Adobe making people rent but you'll be paying more than double in just one year.

Ive got to stick w Creative Cloud as I regularly use 5-6 of their programs but still considering buying this amazing program! What can you say are best features or enhancements above Photoshop?

With this 1. 7 update, frankly, I cannot justify spending the additional money for Adobe Photoshop. I love the workflow and usability of Affinity Photo, and I only paid $40 for it!

I am a professional fashion photographer and recently switched to Affinity Photo! It's an amazing tool and I am getting unexpected results, and even faster!

Great exposition (as usual) Maestro AE - I've had Affinity Photo for a while but your reminder of these 8 features has motivated me to fire it up more often!

BTW -- current release version is 1. 8. 5. 703 and BETA is 1. 9. 0. 780. I have never had an issue with using a BETA but do have both installed.

You didn't give me a reason to use Affinity instead of Photoshop. I'm a landscape photograph first. I want to blend multiple captures creatively.

Thanks for the super informative video! I was trying to decide on a photo editor and you sold me on Affinity Photo! Cant wait to get started!

Been using AP since the first day I saw it on the apple keynote back in 2017 I believe. Never turned back. I prefer it that PS

Since I still use an old copy of CS5, I probably wont get this but its good to know that there are options out there!

Affinity Photo is excellent and the one time $50 payment make it a much better choice than Adobe's subscription system.

please implement DDS support, we still have to go back to PS for generating cubemaps, for Unreal light baking
