HELP!!! Once I concatenate two cells, I need to delete the original cell columns. However, once I do that, the new column no longer holds the combined items b/c it's still a formula. How can I get just the combined items to keep? (I'm creating a CSV to upload contacts into a Facebook ad audience - I need just the combined column without the columns I started with.

Many thanks for that tip. Is there a way however to reverse it ? What I mean is, supposing I had a sheet full of names in one cell e.g. Billy Bell. I now need a cell for Billy and a cell for Bell. so that I can apply a sort filter. Is there a way to achieve that without having to start all over again?

Kevin, thanks for the tip.. I don't use Excel that often and I just can never remember this.. One thing I think you forgot to mention is that if you delete the first two columns, the function breaks. After doing the concat, you need to 'copy/paste values' to another new column. Thanks!

Hey, just wanted to give a quick thanks for this video. I'm doing an intro to excel course and the audio for the other one was god awful so I looked for an alternative and found yours. Very easy to follow, the choice of diction was good and you didn't just zoom through, thank you.

Can you prepare the formula before you fill it in. The point I am saying is that suppose I want to fill in answers to something and then it appears in another cell. The difference is that I have not filled in the cell yet. Its a bit like a template.

Is there a way to -Conditional- concatenate
Meaning is A1 has a text then concatenate with A2 if A2 is not blank.
If A2 is blank then skip is and check if A3 is not blank && etc.,

This is not working for me. In the new cell, where I want the full name displayed, all I see is the formula. =CONCAT(A2,- -,B2) I am not seeing first and last names. What am I doing wrong?

If After concatenation I want to remove the both column then third concatenated column showing NULL. Plz tell me how to delete both first column without losing concatenated data.

Another GREAT resource for aspiring executives is a piece titled The Hatchet Man's Playbook - a LOT of eye-popping, non-obvious stuff! Can't recommend it highly enough!
