hold on a second 'plug in a radeon gpu and you get same result' what a load of horse shit. yes you got that issue 'on the first iteration' of freesync but not on there updated versions you dont, and even then that issue your claiming is 'true' was fixed back in the early days of freesync with firmware updates 'to the display' this has nothing to do with AMD, its a monitor issue that was quickly rectified through simple return of display to your manufacturer who would update the firmware free of charge. my 3 Acer XG270HU monitors had the same issue. sent them off got an update and I never got the issue, and oh look thats a 'validated' display haha what a load of horse shit marketing from nvidia.
And just an FYI the shimmer 'none validated' display (first one) is a Samsung model. Linus Tech Tips actually ripped one of the labels off to show it was a Samsung model during his CES 2019 coverage. so any samsumg Freesync Ultrawide users out there care to dabble in this?

If your monitor blinks constantly, regardless of what graphics card you're using or which variable refresh tech the monitor has, you should return the monitor because it is clearly defective. Not sure why this isn't immediately obvious and not sure what this has to do with G-sync vs Freesync. It's just a defective monitor.
I own a ROG Swift PG279 G-Sync monitor and the LED on the monitor stand constantly flickers. Every brand/model has defects from time to time. So what's the argument here?

well mine is non validated g-sync, my monitor is benq EX3200R freesync with gtx 1070. i just tried on 3 games and its seems like it work fine. feel almost like vsync with less input delay. but sometimes it did blink like that ultrawide monitor but its not that bad. in my monitor its more like little flicker only in the edge of the monitor and its barely happen. i actually never experience G-sync and freesync. i'm hoping nvidia guy see my comments and fix it in the next driver.

i'm using a RTX2080 on a freesynch IIyama 27- 144hz and dont have any blinking, or any other problem! I was using a ACER Predator before this IIyama, same specs, but with GSYNC, never had problems in games, but it was so bad for working, where the IIyama freesinch is perfect for gaming, and working too; ) I play to BF5, never had less than 100 FPS, 100 to 200 almost time, and NEVER had any flicker or any other issue, and my eyes are very sensible, i'm old.

I have 1070 card and the freesync compatible monitor.
So i've turned on settings both in geforce panel and monitor menu and freesync works good BUT exept one moment
When fps drops down below 70 fps, the refresh rate jumps up to 120 Hz. and of course game is not smooth to play. But if there is no FPS below 70, the refresh rate is the same as FPS.
How to fix that? monitor MSI optix mag 241CR.

Sound more like I would just send the monitor to warranty for having one of his features broke, nvida/amd aprove or not still count as a malfunction and should validate as part of the warrantys. Then i read all the comments and seem is a driver issues from nvida when the monitor run bellow 50hz and has easy fix, OK. Dislike video and continue my journey arround Youtube: )

I got lenovo y27f curved 144hz monitor with budget radeon rx 560, every time i put freesync on i have flickering, just works in case im drop down my settings to 59hz then freesync it works fine, i prefer to play games with 144hz and freesync off. maybe my card is too s''small'' for my monitor or is just a bug? - thx for your video man you are great

I have an LU28E590DS Samsung 4K 60Hz FreeSync monitor. It didn't work good with AMD and with Nvidia it doesn't work either. It didn't blink with AMD but I had square parts in the screen that wasn't synchronized with the rest of the screen. G-Sync is expensive but you know it works. With FreeSync you are trying lottery even paired with AMD cards.

This is a gimmick. If the monitor uses the industry standard for adaptive sync and Nvidia drivers are worth a shit. It will work. No need for Gsync certified or the Nvidia charges for certification. The industry standard is set and it is FREE. We demand it stay that way!

Meh. I much prefer gsync or any free sync off. the screen tear is not the problem! As long as you-re at or above your frames of the monitor you-re at! I jumped from 144hz to 240hz IPS! Monitor! And wowwwwwwwww it-s truly amazing
