I-ve got the first generation one and I replaced the thermal grease and got it to run about 6 degrees Celsius lower on average. I-m guessing the i9 processor is going to be super hot and thermal throttle to the point where an i5 would probably perform better. I wonder why Dell, Lenovo, Apple, etc, all use cheap thermal paste, when 50 cents greater investment per laptop could get them a much better heating protection.

This not an accurate description of the actual specs on the released X1 Gen 2 units for sale. They come with only 6 (not 8 cores, i7 (not i9) and they are not touch screen. You should do an update based on the model Lenovo has actually put out for sale. Perhaps Lenovo did not deliver on whatever assumptions you were working from.

This guy sounds like a liar. He sounds like he works at Furniture Liquidators and he-s tryna sell me a couch that he found in a ditch next to the nuclear plant. A couch that was owned by Andre The Giant for 22 years. A couch that Mr. Giant farted into every single evening while he ate his supper and watched the tube.

I'd go for the 1080p HDR screen. I prefer the better battery. Depends on what you buy this laptop for though. Any news PCWORLD on when you are going to review it? I'm sure Lenovo will send you the 4K unit but I'd like a battery comparison with the 1080p HDR screen if you can.

I think that the Thinkpad is cheaper than the Apple laptops and probably better built also. I saw in one tech video about Apple's problems with their laptops, tablets, and phones and how they have known about them for a very long time, but never fixed it.

I like ThinkPad but I do not understand how the ThinkPad X1 carbon put the sound up that I thought was excellent, and the ThinkPad Extreme the sound is still below the chassis, they should make the change since the sound is criticized

Oled, hdr, 4k, touch, color accurate everything I ever wanted in a laptop screen with my favourite thinkpad keyboard. With no power compromises. Who wants to buy my kidney.

Does anyone know if Lenovo played with the the thermals for the X1E gen 2? I was about to pull the trigger and buy a P1, but the X1E might be a better option for me

Was considering buying the Lenovo X1 Extreme Generation One today,
Would it be a better choice to wait until the Gen 2 is released in order to get a better price?
