Hi PiXimperfect! I hope you can help me: I usually take 3 psd for each podcast episode with 3 different aspect ratios (1920x1080, 500x500 and 600x300. For each episode, I place 1 image on the existing layers that is specific to the current episode. Now I do this by masking the first picture in psd file and then copying it to the other 2 psd vith different aspect ratios. Have you got a simpler procedure for this?

Question: If you have a poster like this and want to generate other formats (FB, IG eg) why not create an artboard? with the artboard you can easily dragNdrop the needed Layers from another artboard and you have alle the needed formats in one file. i understand the generated assets but in this case i would use artbords, if i do not need the exported assests somewhere else in another context.

This doesn't really apply to anything I do in PS but I sometimes wonder where you learn these methods. And I wonder where a person would learn all these methods and details if it weren't for PiXimperfect! Is there an instruction manual somewhere for PS? Anyway thanks for giving us all this great free content Unmesh!

Thank you so much for your videos I've learned so much from you.
My team uses this functionality all the time. I think people might find a more extended video useful that covers masks and resizing as well. Just a thought, since this is a frequently overlooked feature that can do so much work.

This makes me want to go back and re-organize all my design files. LOL! The most amazing tool for my OCD streak. Sweet! I like this way better than using libraries. Specially if you are sharing your files with other editors and artists.

Didn't go into much detail about the Asset generator. Nothing about saving multiple versions in different sizes and/or formats at the same time. Been using this for years. Never learnt a thing here.

Why not link the PNG's in the new file? That way, if you change the design of the master file later on, it will automagically get updated in the other versions as well: )
reply

That was very interesting. Also, I think we might use a script to automate adding. png or. jpg to the layers name, and bind the script on some keybind to go faster.

There is much easy and fast way: File - Export - Layers to files. Then select file format and location to save it. Thank me later!

The newest update in CC now allows you to save things to a communal asset library that is shared amongst all adobe products.

Can you do a video about the 30-bit display editing? I think we could all use some of that PiXimperfect insight!
