Wow. I love and use both PScc and LAi for sky replacement and some images work better with one than the other. I am very disappointed with your review as you have made very obvious image selections for the examples to favor Luminar. The reflection addition to LAi is cool and in many cases it will make a good addition to your image but on the other hand it is seriously flawed. It is very clear that you are aware of those flaws as you very deftly sidestep the issues in several cases. With the Luminar reflection you mention several times how you can move the sky and the reflection from side to side but fail to note that if you move it vertically the reflection moves in the wrong direction. You also fail to discuss what happens when the original image has some distinct reflections already in the water and how Luminar fails to cope with these properly. You don't show the luminar sky moving vertically until your NYC example with no reflection. I would encourage viewers of your video to keep trying both and keep a much more open mind than what you are presenting here. I will continue to use both and always settle on the one that does the best job.

In this world of changing technology and constant innovation, it's quite healthy to watch these opinion pieces: hopefully, the two companies are humble enough to watch the video and concur that maybe the comparisons are quite legitimate. Open minded companies can benefit greatly when provided with constructive criticism. When they respond with innovations (at a faster and faster pace I might add) we all win. All we really need in this evolution is that continued focus on time saving simplification (hence AI.
In the world of digital cameras, look at how many people have converted to Sony's products! You can bet that the master of sensor technology is really shaking up the older, long time players. I can't imagine what we'll see in terms of future mirrorless cameras because of the increased competition, but in addition to unlimited resolution, wouldn't it be great to see exposure latitude issues as a thing of the past! It's gonna happen. some day.
Keep comparing Unmesh - we all win.

I just wanted to dispel some concepts some people have that if the edit does not take a really long time, it kills creativity. Of course, if longer editing time is a great part of your creative fun, you should definitely stick with it. When you have a greater toolbox, you have a CHOICE. You can do this the long way or the easy way. Neither had anything to do with creativity. You are still the captain of the creative direction you want to take for the photo. The Luminar toolbox had some 60 main tools with hundreds of sliders each of which has an extensive adjustment range. Mathematically, this gives you millions of creative combinations and possibilities. Talking about UNLEASHING creativity. Of course, Photoshop will always remain the unrivaled toolbox out there but it comes with a more complex learning curve.

Great video! I've got both, I go back and forth. It's easy to get lazy and just use one or the other, but my best results are from using both for different things. IMHO, Luminar is great for certain photos, but it certainly does not replace Photoshop. To me it's more like a tool to enhance what I can do in Photoshop. Thanks for all your videos! PS I got Luminar with your link: )

Yes Luminar it looks pretty good, but is more far away from lanscape pro 3 from Anthropics. Landscape pro had sky replacement from the first version like 5 years ago. Now on the last version it will permit fully manually control combined with AI intellgence. Also you can mask each element of the picture and have the control of every component.

When Luminar came on the scene Photoshop die hard supporters went bonkers but This is what happened when Photoshop came on the scene and guess what after Luminar more softwares will come up i believe its a matter of embracing change because its a natural process of life. AYOBA!

I think one of the dangers of Luminar, is that it's so easy and so seamless that it's going to funnel a lot of different people into all basically getting the same result. If it catches on, I suspect there will be an identifiable 'Luminar look' to certain photographs.

Thank you so much for this video! I just purchased luminar IA, and use it as a Photoshop plugin, it is really amazing! especially the sky replacement! Thanks to you I learned a few more features i wasn't aware of!

I absolutely LOVE Luminar. unfortunately, now I can't get into it due to an opengl3. 3 error message. it's frustrating! :( It hurts even more when I see all of the wonderful things it can do.

Hello,
Sky Replacement feature in the older version of Luminar didn't worked when we first rotate the image and then apply a new sky. Is that issue now solved in this version?

Sky AI and Bokeh AI works the best together. I just tried it now and with bokeh, it increases the effect and makes it more realistic

I purchase the software but, I was not able to get your discount and I can't even login to the software, is very sad but oh well.

Photoshop has all these cool features but they're feeling incomplete and almost always bested by other situational programs.
