we will use the randomness of the Difference blend mode to generate a unique texture or pattern with every stroke Alejandro: This, as usual, was a fantastic lesson Unmesh! As a wedding photographer, sometimes I end up with boring pictures from a dull reception (no ambience or very few color lights during dancing.
I just tried out this technique, and when properly used, you can refresh all those boring images lacking color, by turning them into great ones by adding some realistic light leaks. just as if the actrually had a great DJ with amazing ambience lighting! Your lessons are really amazing and inspiring. many thanks for all your help!

Truly amazing Unmesh! I can't thank you enough for the growth I have achieved in Photoshop which in turn has helped me in Profession as a Photographer. This just what I had been thinking but did not know where to start. I wanted to create painted backgrounds for my studio backdrops, and I think this is going to be the one technique. Thanks a ton again.

You FORCED me to try this trick. Note: on CS6 and a mouse, the difference only works on areas painted brfore the current click of mouse. Areas currently being painted behave as normal. So you need to paint, release mouse, poaint, release mouse (lather, rinse, repeat. But is it s a really neat trick!

Great tutorial- thank you for this.
Who else saw the random pattern half-face appearing at 2: 56? I see the top of a head, eyes and nose and upper lip times 12!
You are more of a magician than I even thought you are!

Hey great tutorial as usual. Question: why does changing the blend mode of the pattern to multiply (or darken) create a shadow on the background? That one is a new one for me. Thanks in advance
