Learn how to mask transparent and see-through objects like veils or fabric in Photoshop! Also, we'll learn a unique technique to match objects with new backgrounds using the concept of light wrapping. We will also learn how to create and extract shadows.
In this lesson, we will cover two main ways to select and mask transparent objects: refine edge and color range selection. Then we will move on to advanced techniques for blending this object with the background and removing halos or color casts.

I highly suggest you check out the Background Eraser tool for such purposes. I use it to erase a certain color from a subject and you can have some decent control over it. In the example with the veil it would work wonders.
