I ve been doing this since November. I was 177 pounds 18% now it's march I am 152 pounds 11% body fat, all my fat is gone all muscle now abs popping out, arms and chest are bigger and legs. All I did was drop 300 calories from my calorie maintains, worked out 3 days a week full body, so it took longer than 40 minutes, more like an hour or so, ate 200 sometimes more of grams of protein, kept my carbs around 150, and my fat under a 100 grams. I ate 4 times a day, last meal at 8pm first meal at 12pm. Trained fasted, only supplements was 5 grams of creatine and 2 protein shakes a day. I hit a weight plateu around February not losing any weight so for 5 days I ate at maintenance and boom weight started dropping again. Right now I am currently at 11% and starting to bulk slowly. I added just 200 calories over my maintenance my new maintenance, so I will slowly add muscle to my new body, I will keep the same diet because it works and that diet is I eat what I like that has all the micronutrients I need. I will just add more portions of the same foods there you go for anyone that's interested on how it can be done at least for me, everybody is different, but that how I've done it. Good luck and yes you can lose fat and build muscle at the same time. It takes dictation, hard work and patience.

Finally someone who is preaching something that I used to do. Building muscle AND losing weight is possible. I'm a guy, 5 foot 6. 5 inches in height, I was 100kg once, dropped to 71KG within 12-16 months and gained lean mass, meaning I was losing weight AND building muscle. I was in a state of caloric deficit throughout that time (though at times I would be just be at par with my daily caloric requirement or a bit above, but that was occasionally. Supplementation of protein by having Whey Protein was necessary after 4-5 months of training. People thought I was not doing my thing properly, especially the gym manager, and I didn't listen to them and kept doing my thing.

Not about calories. Cardboard has calories. Anything that can be burned in a bomb calorimeter has calories. Its about alkalinity. Acid foods require fat to buffer. Alkalinity releases acids from fat. Krebs cycle releases electrons down the mitochondrial transport chain. Not calories. Calorie is an energy quantity. Only nitrogen one loses is skin external and internal, hair and nails. Rest is recycled in free amino acid pool in the body. Stay green, good fats. Cruciferous veggies have full amino acid profile and broccoli is 45% protein as opposed to beef at 25%. Damn I love being a biochemist.

I sleep late and wake up late cuz I got online school so I don-t worry about waking up early or sleeping early I have seen progress I-ve been getting stronger and bigger but not by much but it-s noticeable by other people that know me but I want more I want to transform I think Ima set a timer for 60 mins every workout and put the work in and then run on the treadmill for like 15 mins and then drink my protein shake and just eat slot trough the day. Is that enough? I-m 17 I also like to party - i don-t want it to affect me too much

Hey other Jeff, my favorite meal is 12-16 ounce steak, with a serving of broccoli, steamed carrots and steamed celery. I'm 5'10- 200lbs and I have that skinny fat thing going on but I'm still quite strong overall. I also supplement whey isolate protein with 2 scoops of 26g with 7g of sunflower -peanut butter- and a banana blended with whole milk and ice. I was wondering. is this enough to have gains and gut fat loss?

you want to build muscle? stay on a consistent caloric intake, make sure your taking in your protein daily, learn how to perform each exercise so you can properly engage the muscle correctly with a great mind to muscle connection, eat well and don't eat past 300 caloric intake over your maintenance and get sleep. to this for a number of years and you'll have your body. You simply don-t need to bulk to gain muscle.

Can't imagine where I'd be without Jeff. I only workout at home with some cheap low quality weights i got online. And a pull up bar which I set up a few weeks ago, and I'm almost halfway there. With all the free fitness guidance from Jeff i can see myself achieving greater results.
Big thank you from me to you Jeff, you're the real deal in an industry full of fakes and exploitation.

What if you did one stage of bulking to gain as much muscle as possible and then started doing a 4 month cut to look your best? But after that following a clean muscle building and fat burning journey like what you just explained? Like a slower process but pretty much maintaining but make decent gains over a 6-12 month period instead of just completely starting slow?

he never actually said how you can gain muscle and burn fat at the same time. just to train Athlean-X style, of course. because you cant actually do both at the same time naturally. unless you're a genetic freak or a newbie or lucky to find the perfect routine. most people will eventually stop gaining muscle and will have to separate their goals
