Best Abs Exercise Ever (THE WINNER)

There are hundreds if not thousands of abs exercises that you can include in an ab workout. Naming the best ab exercise ever can be tough for sure. That said, in this video, I didn-t just name the best abs exercise but I provide the reasons for why I feel so. By the time you are done watching, you will have a new weapon in your ab arsenal that you should be able to do and feel the benefits of, very quickly. To start, this abs exercise is a ground based movement. It is a closed chain abs movement. What that means is that your hands and feet are in contact with the ground throughout rather than having one or the other floating in the air. A hanging ab raise, while an awesome abs exercise, is not closed chain since the legs never make or keep contact with the floor. Next, this exercise is scalable. This is important since it not only allows for everyone to do some variation of it (based on their ability level) but more importantly it gives everyone options for progression as they get stronger. Too many ab exercises are what I call -one-way-. You can either do them or you can-t. If you can, they get so easy that you wind up doing so many reps that you lose the effectiveness of the ab exercise. Not this one. Here I show you how to change the movement just slightly and keep the challenge coming. Moving on, this ab workout option addresses the most important responsibility of your abs and core - stability. You see, ab strength is not of paramount importance when you are training your abs. Having abs that are incredibly stable is much more so. Strength would be the ability of your abs to generate motion of the spine (like in a weighted crunch) against the force of heavy weight. Stability would be the ability of the abs to prevent motion of the spine against the force of momentum and torque exerted upon them. This particular abs exercise does this perhaps better than any other. Not to mention, it also has the benefit of allowing you to hit multiple core muscles at the same time rather than in isolation. When it comes to abs and core exercises, you really want to try and get your muscles to work together as they will in real world function. The often underworked lower ab and bottom up rotational movements are front and center in this variation. For all of those reasons, I nominate this as the winner in the best ab exercise category. Sure, others sill have their favorites as well. However, if you are looking to put together an ab workout that is capable of delivering solid results in the shortest amount of time possible, then you will want to be sure to include this ab exercise in your workout. For a complete workout plan that hits your core from every angle and helps you to carve up your abs as you train like an athlete, be sure to head to and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System. I include step by step workouts along with day by day meal plans to make sure you don-t just get the abs you want, but you keep them visible year round

Everyone forgets to say. to see and have abs you need to be in a lower body fat range 10% to 2%. How do we get there? Diet. Caloric deficit. Add the workout to all that and you got Abs. When over 10% body fat STILL WORK THEM OUT! once you follow the diet and caloric deficit, then all that hard work of abs will be revealed once losing the fat. Skinny guys want abs? Then ad weight and time over tension with an effective exercises like shown in this video.

The past five years in the pool has taught me stable rotation left hand to right foot and right hand to left foot. First, I had to attain stable balance in all dimensions to apply torsional resistance. If you-ve got a few years to learn something new you won-t even need a floor to engage a multitude of stabilizing muscles while dynamically engaging your abs. I can-t wait until tomorrow. First swim in months! YEAH!

Love your training videos. I-m from South Africa and been following for more than 2 years. Always incorporate your training into my regimes.
Can you perhaps do a 10-15min home full body workout routine that includes a skipping rope. Perhaps a routine that needs to be repeated 2 or 3 times to get to at least 45mins of exercising.

I do this same exercise but place my feet on a balance ball instead of on the floor or a plate. Is there any reason why using a balance ball is not suggested here? Is it not as effective or is there some other reason it should not be done?

I dont know why people hate leg day, core day are the days I really hate. It burns so much training your abs, I dont think any other muscles feel the same during my exercises. But I guess I just need to feel the burn and keep pushing.

I watched this video and immediately bought floor sliders that work on carpet and hard floor! They arrived today used them instantly and instantly died! Can-t wait to use them to build my core as I-m lacking so bad there

I-m so happy I came across this video, my lower abs are incredibly weak due to surgery. I-ve been looking for a work out to target scar tissue and strengthen lower ab muscles. Thank you so much! -

Be very careful when you-re not able to do certain movements. One can really injure themselves both suddenly or overtime. If you don-t know your abilities, please LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!

What about shoulder pain. After doing push ups for a month my shoulder is starting to hurt like a tear feeling. How much time should you let muscle rest? Any advice about the down time?
