Why 97% of Men Over 40 Fail to Build Their Lower Chest

Most men over 40 struggle to build their lower pecs, and it has nothing to do with their age or genetics. As someone who once had a flat, undefined chest with no separation at the bottom, to now having my chest as one of the most noticeable parts of my physique, I can confidently say that building your chest is far simpler than you might think. The problem, however, is that most men don’t know how to train their lower pecs effectively. And that’s exactly what I want to discuss in this video: why 97% of men over 40 fail to build their lower chest. The truth is, you’re probably already doing the right exercises, but growing this part of your chest has less to do with what exercises and more to do with how you’re doing them. Two things:
1 I lead off with weighted dips 2x/week. They don't just build your lower pecs; they are great for the entire pec region. My suggestion is instead of using a belt to hold a tiny 25 lb or less weight plate (LOL, just stick a DB between your legs just above the knees. It's way less hassle and should work for most people up to 40-45 lbs.
2 For DB pullovers, for the vast majority of folks, don't bother with laying perpendicular on the bench. Just lay on top so the back of your head touches near the end. You will get every bit as much ROM this way. To really get the most benefit from DB POs, you must work up to a weight of 35-40 lbs minimum (the higher the better but stay above 6-7 reps. This will really stretch your pec ROM in a very unique way like no other lift. Go slow on the eccentric and milk the bottom for 1/2 second. Nothing like it.

Regarding the pullover. I got INCREDIBLE results. By getting two hex dumbells. And taping them together with silver door seal tape. Its the hand positioning. And more space between the hands. At 61. Dips were putting too much stress on my shoulders. But the twin dumbell pullovers worked like a dream. Also added size to my back. And triceps.

Dip with forward lean: When doing these properly, they really get the job done for the lower pecs!
Your before photo should be great motivation for people, shows what hard work accomplishes! (I was very similar)
Thanks for the post, you guys have consistently excellent content!

Just do push ups. If possible deficit push ups. If possible do them as a superset to your chest flys/ chest dips/ & decline bench. If possible use push ups thru out your chest workout as a superset to everything.
The last option will visibly change your chest in 3 weeks

4: 57 I call those nut crunches to emphasize bringing the hands in towards the body at the bottom of the movement. They mimic the arm-movement of a swimmer doing the breast stroke. (It's one reason why most swimmers have good pec development)

I’m 57. I’ve had saggy man boobs for 40 of those years without being overweight. Even now, working out and doing dumbbell workouts with a bmi of 24, I need a bra.
Never gets better.

I’m 39 but I’m just here to be ahead of curve. Thanks for the content.
Big fan of pullover, that’s my 2025 exercise of the year. 10/10.

I like how this video explains things in a simple way just like The Unreleased Program does and that is why it has been so easy to follow

I noticed the chestless guy winced and grimaced a lot during his training. An awful lot. His problem is working his face harder than his pecs.

I am 42 and completely absent of a defined lower chest. This video seem like it is directly at me and I thank you, no hate.

Absolute B. S. I am 61 and have more muscle than 95% of natural men. I follow the only training that gets results at any age.
