New updated RedHead auction scene in Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Florida. What do you guys think about the new revamped redhead scene? Pirates of the Caribbean over at Disneyland in California is currently undergoing the same change to the Redhead auction scene. It's scheduled to open up again on June 8th, 2018 Last year Disneyland Paris Pirates of the Caribbean has also completed its updated auction scene.

Honestly no idea why people are so butthurt about getting rid of the bride auction scene. I wasn't personally offended by the scene, but it is true that selling women isn't really tasteful these days. It's a kind of symbolic thing I guess. Walt Disney was all about progress, and I'm sure if he were alive today and people were like Walt, my man. Auctioning off women isn't cool these days he'd agree. Again, like I said, I wasn't offended by the scene, but it weirds me out how many people are really upset about the change. Like, why do you want to see women getting sold so much? For my friends having a psychological meltdown over a pretty reasonable change, my tiny violin plays for you. I will admit the dialogue in the new scene is cheezy though lol.

I wish they didn't change the auction scene to appeal to feminists. Forcing villagers to give away their possessions is not a horrible idea for this type of ride, but selling the women and shouting preference for the curvy red head was the exact thing pirates would have done. Teach children that people used to do horrible things so we don't do them again. Don't pat little kids on the back so that they feel included. There were and still are many unnecessary male pirates in this ride. They could have converted several of them to female to give them a noticeable presence in the group.

While I personally don't think it was necessary for the scene to be changed, there's so many overblown reactionary comments to the change. While Pirates of the Caribbean may have been more historically accurate when Walt was designing the ride, it was never meant to be 100% accurate, and any historical authenticity died when Disney started introducing parts of the movie into the attraction over a decade ago. Also there is a bit of irony in people making such a big deal over something so minor, isn't that what you criticize 'snowflakes' for doing?

Did they remove the mermaid skeleton? I kind of liked that prop and the mermaid song playing in the background. And like most others, I prefer the original auction scene we wants the redhead. It was a classic pirates of the Caribbean scene, the new one isnt terrible but it is not as memorable either. To be honest the only change I cant stand is Barbossa still wearing the Royal Navy coat and hat from part 4. I know they are trying to show them accordingly to recent films, but his regular pirate clothes were 10x cooler

I get why they want to change it but not sure why they should of. It was already put in the ride and its the way of the Pirates then i dont see that it should Change just because ppl said so. Your not changing the way Pirates act your just wanting to change it to a different wrong doing. lets face it they are now selling stolen stuff. They are Pirates they take what the want not buy it. so if they are selling stuff my guess is its stolen.

I cant wait to go back with my kids On the whole redhead thing though, I personally think the whole ride should be updated extensively to be on par with the Shanghai version. Not the same ride, per se. But maybe make it to where the riders have to go into a pirate version of purgatory to save Jack from all the villains - Davy Jones, Black Beard, and Salazar.

While I like the fact that they still care enough to keep updating the ride and I think the pirate auction is interesting at some point they need to update the other animatronics sur yo the fact they have a few very fluid moving ones and the rest are stilled a stiff and janky.

I went there last year when the cannons under water that shoot up to pretend like their cannonballs got stuck because something got blown up so we were stuck there for atleast 30 minutes and a guy who worked there actually had to come out in a scuba suit and go in the water

To me what's missing in this Orlando version is the first part of the Anaheim version. Going through the bayou village at night with the cabins, the crickets, the banjo playing out on the front porches, etc. Its a really nice scene before the rest of the ride

At 2: 25 during the cannon scene I remember they used to shoot fireballs straight across, and this one time one of the fireballs actually hit me right in the face. The best way I could describe it was a big ball of really cold air, making my eyes dry up.
