Did this back in 2007 and it was super awesome when you finally get to the top it is definitely breathtaking. Your scaring me a little when your taking the footage of the climb up on half dome especially from what looked like outside of the cables. Good job though, brings back memories. Thanks

Backpacking With Woodglue
Viewer beware: Before you book your trip, a permit is required. Many ppl spend years applying for one before they win the lottery. I got lucky on my first try last April. Also, This video does not show that its a 5, 500 foot climb over the span of 11 miles to get to the top.

My first visit to Yosemite back in the summer of '89, i hiked the Panorama Trail from Glacier Point to Half Dome and back in one day. About 24 miles. All on a recently broken foot. I eventually got to live and work in Yosemite Valley August '91 - August '92. Best year of my life.

Went to do this around a month ago. It was an amazing experience and my grandpa has told me about it since I was a kid. I was able to do the hike at 15 years old and it's amazing to see the kinds of people that come around the world to climb it. Congrats on making it to the top

No thank you. I've been admiring and praising God, for decades, from the valley floor. I do hike, but the magnificent monoliths of Yosemite, are to much cliff for me. There's granite cliffs, all over the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I love the mountains. wisesafe

Did the hike 20 years ago in Sept, only 5-6 others on cables. Can't imagine that many trying go up/down same time Waterfall's are spectacular this year after all the rain we got.

Highly recommend getting to the top of Half-dome before sunrise if you can Sunrise is unbelievable from the topYou beat the crowds, the heat, and the ranger checking permits; )

I was up there last weekend. I chickened out at the cables. I got my cables permit right away though. Super easy. Monday and Tuesday. best bet. Thanks for the video.
