I went to this the first or second year it opened in Anaheim. I like that one best without Jack Sparrow in it. This one seems a little dull. Thank you anyway for sharing it. The one in Shanghai is so much more impressive. You go through the hull of a ship when all the ships are fighting. Much more clever. But it was to this one that Kim Jong un's step brother was going to see when he left North Korea. Kim had him murdered in the Manilla airport. He didn't approve and if he even thinks people like someone better than him. . they don't survive. :( If you are an adult a good program I like about sailing ships and the British Navy is Hornblower. Most of the episodes are on here. Thank you for sharing this with us. :) Songs

Well I am surprised to see their fog machines are not working either. Especially since this is the best maintained of all the Disney parks - also the most Disney of the Disney parks. This version though - is not as good as the original. Disneyland's is the original, (before they made the changes that currently and incessantly remind you of Jack Sparrow - and every character from the movies has to tell you who they are, is the best - I am not considering PoC in Paris as it a lot different. Although it is nice to see the final shoot out remaining which was castrated from Disneyland's.

Do the boats go up a waterfall after the guests disembark, or is there no uphill climb at all (as in the ride is slightly uphill the entire length of the ride? I know the original imagineers didnt like the uphill waterfall on the original, but Walt didnt think it took away from the realism of the ride by having the boats going up the waterfall like they did. Perhaps this was the imagineers getting one up on Walt.

Shanghai's is total complete horse crap, and the best Pirates ride hands down is the one in Tokyo because it's the only Pirates ride left that still closest to the original Pirates ride as it opened in Disneyland back in 1967. Pirates were not meant to be politically correct, let alone be sensitive or well treating towards women. Give me a break.

I liked this. I grew up loving the WDW ride and loved getting to ride the one in Cali but this looks true to the spirit of the attraction. I also love how they kept the Wicked Wench instead of making it the black pearl or something. Drink up, me hearties Yo, ho

Trivia: When this first opened, the talking skull said what the Imagineers thought was Dead men tell no tales in Japanese; it was actually saying There is no mouth on a dead person. That has since been corrected.

It looks almost exactly like the one at Disneyland. Only difference is a few things are in different positions and you can see the walls and ceiling instead of an eerie fog and night sky.
