Here's a construction update of Guardians of the Galaxy Ride at Disney California Adventure, as of March 26, 2017. Guardian of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout Ride is scheduled to open on May 27, 2017. Dylan Clark: Am I the only person in the comments agreeing with this change? I mean seriously I think it's looking great so far. Shut up overgrown fanboys. They shut down TOT for a reason. It is not a Disney property. It belongs to CBS and both companies knows this. Yes I know loosing a beloved ride is a harsh choice for Disney, but honestly, I kinda missed it too. But not that much. When I was a small kid, tower of terror is one of those attractions that I was scared to go on right next to California screamin' which I will ride on in the future but I digress. But as I got older, I faced my fear and took a chance. Fun fact. I rode the ride one time and never will again not because the attraction is scary but of its closure. R. I. P TOT. But tower of terror aside. When Marvel announced Guardians of the galaxy, I was feeling optimistic about this change except nobody else including most of you btw. I always wanted a marvel ride at a Disney Park outside of Universal Orlando. Marvel is one of Disney biggest franchises right now right next to Star Wars so it does make sense to put marvel property into a Disney park. So I'm pretty excited for guardians and marvel land coming out. Look, if you can't expect change, then you don't know what the definition of change really mean To quote Peter Capaldi from Doctor Who. It's a fancy word for changing your mind. We must expect change for the better. If we don't, we'd be stuck with the same thing over and over again until it gets to old to quickly. That's why I'm looking forward to this change. It's okay to change and its starts with you. You can't always except things to stay the same because nothing last forever and you know it. So stop arguing and just expect changes wether you like it or not. That's how life works. I'm done here.

I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I like it (sorta. Yes. I'm very disappointed that Tower of Terror is gone. I went on a vacation to Disneyland with one of the main reasons being going on Tower of Terror again. Don't tell me I'm not a real fan, or that my opinion is incorrect because I betrayed Tower of Terror. I was really mad that Disney let such a beloved attraction go, for this out of place ride. Oh yes, it is definitely out of place, but that doesn't mean it'll be a bad ride. I doubt it'll be better than Tower of Terror, but I'll definitely give it a chance. I remember when Cars Land was scheduled for opening, and everyone thought it was going to be terrible. Why would they make a park/rides based upon that series? Sound familiar? I'm not saying it'll be as good as Cars Land, but I'm saying that all of these new rides/parks should be given as much a chance as the original rides.

I can live with Tower of Terror as a ride being gone, but it was the CENTERPIECE of the whole first chunk of the park's theming. From the moment you entered Buena Vista Street, to the back corners of the Hollywood Backlot, you felt like you were in the roaring 20s. From live swing music, down to advertisements for live music performances at the Hollywood Tower Hotel being displayed in stores on Buena Vista, the theming was excellent and fully immersive. Now with this orange rectangle jutting up, I'm completely taken out of that vintage feeling and left feeling confused as to where I'm supposed to be. I'm afraid this is just step 1 to the complete dissolving and reformation of the Hollywood Backlot into a Marvel Land, and I'm just sad about that. I'm excited about the new Guardians ride, but this just feels wrong here.

It's pretty sad that Disney is both getting lazy and just capitalizing on stuff that's the flavor of the moment. They are getting so lazy to the point that they just scrap one ride and use the same exact ride/attraction building of a beloved ride/attraction that causes a great upset amongst their fans, first with the Maelstrom in Epcot and now this what a bummer. I mean why not put a Gaurdian Of The Galaxy ride in Tomrrowland or somewhere else in DCA, get rid of A Bugs Land, I don't know but The Tower Of Terror was not a ride that had to be sacrificed for this, it fit perfectly in the Hollywood part of DCA. I don't see The Gaurdian Of The Galaxy franchise standing the test of time sigh. come on now imagineers at Disney get your stuff together.

I have learned to never trust concept art that comes from Disney. If you look at the drawing, it's colored WAY better with mostly gold coloring and different colored lights that give it an awesome futuristic, blade runner kind of feel that is GOTG. And I seriously hope the cue will be larger than the concept art is implying, 'cause it looks like a tiny room. Still, the ride itself gives me more of a tomorrowland kind of feel, but since that's going away for Star Wars, I guess the next best thing would be Hollywood. Gonna miss ya TOT

This looks beautiful. I don't give a crap what everyone says. Tower of Terror was terrible. It was a band-aid they threw on DCA's slit throat when it was failing miserably to help bring in guests, and it was a cheap, unimpressive knock-off of the Florida version. Sure it was a fun ride, but it was never a great one. And the building was an eyesore then as well. It looked nothing like 1920s Hollywood. Hopefully all of Hollywood Land, by far the worst land in the resort, just gets scrapped and replaced by Marvel Land.

The colors are too bright and lively. From the (awesome) design we saw it seemed like it was gonna look more rusty and outworn, which would make it look a lot better than. this. Still, I wasn't a massive fan of the ToT building here (the one in Florida is superior to a laughable degree, so I'm not gonna cry over this, but I am a little bummed 'cause it isn't as good as I thought it was going to be.

Why did they make it so colorful? It looks awful. There is nothing about this building that makes me think Guardians of the Galaxy. The least Disney could do is make the ride look like it came from the Guardians universe, not from a pop art museum. The Tower of Terror was better to look at because it had more natural colors making it look like an actual building.

Kinda excited to see how it comes out, my grad night it June 2 so hoping it'll be done by then but I personally think it would have fit a lot better in tommowland. I get what they were thinking but it just doesn't fit at all. I remember DCA being super California themed now I don't even know what the park is anymore

I wish they would change it back but they won't like they spent too much money they should've just taken the whole thing down and made the Florida one if they wanted more people the same amount if not more people would come to see that fifth dimension scene in California
