All these videos make Vietnam look a wonderful destination, and some places are, but there is another side to travelling here. Most hotels will ask to keep your passport-NEVER. Give them a copy and if they don't like it go somewhere else. Guides get kick-backs, so they don't always take you to the best places or places you want to go. Never trust a Vietnamese. Chain your wallet to yourself and watch your belongings. You will get lots of false information from many people and they only smile because they want your money. This is an extremely dangerous country to travel in-life is still cheap here. Bring/buy tissues as most restrooms don't have any. Do NOT go into the Cu Chi Tunnels-bacteria ridden and full of diseases. Stay away from Bui Vien St. in Saigon-full of thieves, extortionists, cheats, expensive, con-artists. Do not go to bars or discos alone. You may be ganged -up on for money.
