Lovely
i love seeing videos talking about my town! if there was any place i would recommend in texas, it would be goliad.
not only are the people there great, the prices arent too shabby! and we have tons of cats so if you're a cat lover like me, come around! we have tons of historical events too and sites that you can check out! the hanging tree, reenactment, courthouse and my favorite, the state park. the hike and bike trail is amazing too! it is about 10 miles to get to the end and back, but along the way there is plenty of facts!

Fannin, a West Point dropout and slave dealer, surrendered to General Urrea. Santa Anna sent word to kill then all. Doctors were allowed to live because Santa Anna had not brought any medical care for his men who had made the long march from Mexico
Some more who escaped may have benefited from the men's distaste at the task. Santa Anna, merciless in victory, cowardly in defeat.
Stephen Hardin's Texian Illiad is a good modern military history of the Texas Revolutuon

Thanks for your posts They have inspired so many of our trips to America from Australia. I especially love watching you and your dads travels. I wish youd do the Camino de Santiago in Spain one day! I think youd show the effort and camaraderie whilst explaining the history of the place as well! Also I think youd go the whole way instead of coping out at 200 km like so many you tubers.

Fantastic job explaining the entire site with respect. We used to live in the area and visited many times. The updates are super to preserve history. Our friend was the curator there years ago. On a special occasion called Spanish Nightwatch I had the privilege of lighting fireworks from the barracks roof. A night our children still remember as adults. Thanks for bringing this to us.

Im going to sign up next week when I get paid. Ive been following you since you started Brent and and can tell you as a runner you will probably have to put a limit on the amount of runners you allow or have staggered races by age group. This will be very popular for sure and will blow your mind by the response you will get

We love the videos with you and Pops. This one was particularly fascinating, and thank you, Prof. Pops, for the additional historical information. I think I'd have found staying there a little spooky and more than a bit sad, given the history. What an interesting experience, though.

My mother and I visited that site September of 1992. It was fascinating. We were there when they were holding a Texas cattlemen barbecue in the huge square, so smelled that barbecue smell as we toured it. Thank you so much for the memories.

This is the town my bff lives in. Lots of history. PS, there is really no good place to eat at in Goliad. Hop over to Victoria to eat. Or if you hit market days in downtown look for a Vietnamese booth.

I really appreciate our nations history. This is not something I was taught about in school so Im very glad to know this. The fact that you were able to experience the location where it happened is amazing.

I visit it often, as does my roommate. Locals hear screams coming from the massacre. Down the road away from town past La Bahia is a Mexican restaurant of the same name. Best authentic food in the area.

That is SO awesome. As a lifelong Texan I really appreciate any visitors to our state exploring the history especially something like this that is Off the beaten trail. I've only been there once myself.

does look a bit haunting wouldn't dare to stay in it, must say was surprised at the price, cheaper than the cheapest room in any national park lodge for such a big room and an unique room

I loved this Josh, I loved pops telling the history. So much history is lost today, and the kids just don't seem to want to hear about it.

An amazing experience to spend the night in a place of such historical significance. The bathroom reminded me of the Madonna Inn

Thank you. I have visited the Alamo, but I had never heard of Goliad. Thank you. As a professor, your dad is very humble.
