Well, i have a video on here on How to Learn a Foreign Language on there I give a few more tips on how to learn a foreign language. If you are writing the words down, write once inenglish then five times below the world in portuguese. writing it 5 times maximizes the brains abilityto memorize. however, do not do too many words at a time because your brain gets a bit fried. it sounds silly but its true. check out the video for some more tips. i want to help

Hitchhiking is not as common in europe as it used to be. if you are looking at joining up with people and driving around there are a lot of car share services especially in germany. all you do is sign up and look for people driving from munich to berlin and you write them, agree how much gas money you will give them and go.
i personally would not recommend the hitchhiking route. tons of trains and buses in europe at a more or less OK price make it find to do it that way.

Ah, okay. Yeah I first got the idea of hitchhiking from a book about a guy who hitchhiked/backpacked/walked his way all the way from Luxembourg to India. Also, on a somewhat different note, for Portuguese, should I say Ola or Oi? I keep on finding different things all across the internet on whether or not Ola should be used as an interjection only, or something like that.

I was actually planning on going to Portugal first, and I was wondering if perhaps you had any advice on learning the language. I've been watching your videos on it and writing the words down, and I find it increasingly frustrating because after practicing a long time reciting the words, after a few hours, I've forgotten it.

Oh, cool, didn't see that. But yeah, I've always had a fascination with Portugal and it's lifestyle, and two of the places I'd really like to see on my trip are Spain and Germany. I was wondering if you think it would be safe to do things like hitchhiking, walking (basically anything that would be unthinkable in the U. S): )

Your videos are incredible. I actually plan on backpacking across some of Western Europe after I complete my post-secondary education, and the info your videos provide is great.
