You forgot to mention another scam that is quite common in tourist areas in Paris but also pretty much everywhere in the world: Any game where you have to place a bet and find either a different card among 3, or a ball under a cup, a symbol under a puck or anything like that.
These occur mostly near the Eiffel tower and also at Montmartre although you can find them pretty much everywhere there are tourists.
Simply don't try it, you could end up losing 50 to 100 euros if not more as their games are indeed rigged. They even have accomplices that pretend to be customers and win easily but once an actual player, in that case _you_ starts playing, they'll do everything to make you lose and play over and lose again and so on.
But even if you manage somehow to win they might give you money but only to get it back using force.
I want to point something else that usually happens near metro stations, and not only in Paris, it's people handing you free newspapers. Although not a scam this can become annoying if you don't know about it, or frankly even if you live here but saying Non is usually more than enough if you don't want that paper.
And if you want the newspaper, simply take it and say Merci with a smile but be warned: it will all be in French

We experienced several scams during our weekend visit to Paris, the Sacre Coer was the worst place the guys with the bracelets literally tried to grab my wife and I and force bracelets on our wrists, totally inappropriate, we got lured by the petition scam under the Eiffel tower but I would add to your comment that they try to get you to hold the petition board and write on it with a pen, your hands are busy whilst they can slip their hands into your pockets and distract you, we saw a group of Asian tourists get targetted by musicians on the metro who literally played a few notes at them then demanded money from them - as tourists we felt targeted throughout our trip and were really sadly disappointed that the romance of this city seems largely lost in this way

When I was on Ibiza, one girl approached me with a huuuge smile on her face and started a casual blah blah, before I even realized, she was weaving a bracelet around my wrist and continued with the chit chat. Once she was done, she asked for money (I think it was 5 euro, but I said no no, you never said I'll have to pay for this. She continued to pressure me into paying her, but I firmly told her NO so she left. God knows how many people fall for that and end up forcibly paying her for something they never wanted in the first place just because they're guiltied into it

Young street in Toronto is bad for little scams like the bracelet one. People constantly handing out flyers or pamphlets, then asking for money so they can keep printing these or whatever. I once had a guy give me a pamphlet for his yoga class. I tried handing it back by saying my body needs way more than yoga, to fix it. It then turned to me saying I have no money one me to which he then said ohh you can give me anything then. That is a nice shirt you're wearing. I dropped the pamphlet on the ground and walked away, with the guy trying to chase me down for a minute or two.

I had money and important documents in my shoes and bra and I don't remember what I did with my phone but it was kept safe and I was very aware of my bag. I was 16, traveling with my school to Paris and Eurodisney from Greece. so we had a tour bus and a guide that warned us before take off about all these. But there is a similar problem downtown Athens so I've learned to handle this early on. you don't wanna take my bra or shoe money from my zip lock bag? I don't care! you lose the sale. :p I care to be safe traveling.

I went to paris and definitely saw most of these, the only one I wouldnt really consider a scam is the bird feeding guy, I just gave him an euro and it made for a cute couple of photos/nice experience so whatever

France is a Socialist country, and this is what happens when the government pays everyone a fair living expense. It isnt fair, and people supplement their income with being a street vendor/scam artist.

Been to Paris few times, never had experience being scam or anything. Maybe because wherever I go travel, I always try to act like a local, because it; 's always tourist being targeted

I'm amazed at how they managed to change Paris from a beautiful diverse city into an African hell-hole in just a short few decades.
