And most of the glass sold is in fact from china. It is a shame, because tourists cant discern crystal glass hand-cut by czechs, from a cast-into-form mass produced glass.
If you are looking for something traditional to bring back, try czech jewellery - red grenade gems in golden rings, bracelets or earrings. These are very noticeable, the dark red gems are small, but cheap, so every ring has many of them and gives it the thick luxurious feel, but compared to diamonds they are very cheap.
Next thing to buy as a present is a gun, we are big animal in small arms manufacturing. I cant tell anything about laws involved, but buying here is definitely much cheaper than abroad.

Ah, yes, the sunrise. Back in the early 90s I worked as a construction labourer in Prague. On one job we were working on the roof of an office block. We started before dawn, and you could see the sparking trams down on the street. Then the sun would come up over the castle, and everyone stopped working just to look at it. It made the day quite tolerable.

Just a hint. If you rent a vehicle in Germany, Austria, or France and think you're going to drive to Czechoslovakia or any of the old Soviet controlled nations, forget about it. If your rental gets stolen, you're on your own and you will owe the agency a new vehicle. If your from the US, your insurance will not cover it either since you broke the contract.

I really really wish (and Im not at all alone) that tourists wouldnt get drunk in the streets and make so much noise and throw rubbish all around and not recycle when possible. Its the main reason why locals sometimes frown upon tourists. And also to be honest, with covid the city became more livable because the huge crowds were gone.

YOU DO NOT TIP IN CZECH REPUBLIC. Service staff all have proper wages. American tourists keep coming with their bad habits and this is causing annoyance to locals because now the service staff is expecting or even asking for tips when it is not a thing here.

I recommand exchange at KAPROVA 13 - for changing money with the best prices (better than bank) and 0% fee. Its 100meters away of Old Town Square and its best point in the whole city. This is not commercial, this is real expirience: )

After two visits, I am convinced there is an indifference, racism against people who are non White. Many others of the same background as I am, also noticed the same. Great looking city, but dubious treatment of some people.

Eating, drinking and making merry 'til dawn is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm going to Prague. A 56 year old, 6'2 crazy, white haired Canadian in a kilt. They won't know what hit them. Did I hear BAGPIPES?
