Just read a Danish triology about the slavetrade, the virgin islands and the uprising. Very compelling and sad stuff to read! But so happy it got abolished and that the islands now thrive: )

St Croix! Not as touristy calm and beautiful. Good foods, beaches and gardens. Easy going locals who are very tolerant of mainlander driving. It's home the day I retire, soon.
