Anchorage a destination of awe-inspiring beauty difficult to rival. Watch this travel guide video to see why Anchorage is one of Alaskas greatest vacation spots. Anchorage: The city of #Anchorage lies in Alaskas mountainous south and is home to around 40 percent of all Alaskans. At the height of summer, Anchorage basks in 22 hours of sunlight, with the sun barely dipping below the horizon, making it an excellent #vacation destination for those looking to pack a lot into their trip. #Explore the Flattop Mountain trails which serve up some of the best views in the state. Learn the traditional dances and games of Alaskas first peoples at the Alaska Native Heritage Centre or stock up on stories and folklore from the Last Frontier at the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Centre. Hang out at the dock at Seward, a picturesque fishing outpost or set sail to the Kenai Fjords National Park. Marvel as deep-sea giants breach the surface of these still waters. Climb aboard a seaplane or helicopter and soar from Seward out to the Godwin Glacier. Alaska is a state famous for its rugged terrain and endless recreational opportunities, and a vacation Anchorage does not disappoint

Hubbs an I went for our 20th wedding anniversary. Its all you see and more! We did a self driving tour. Flew into Anchorage and spent the night. Got up and drove around Anchorage and saw a Moose right off the road near Earthquake park. It was a fantastic trip. We spent the first night in Anchorage, 2 nights in Seward the back to Anchorage for a night. Next day we drove to Denali and spent 2 nights there and then back to Anchorage for one more night before we flew home. We were blessed with excellent weather. No rain, no mosquitoes and Denali was perfectly clear. Not a cloud in the sky. Everyone was so kind and friendly. We flew in the week after Memorial Day. Going back next year.

Alaskans outside of Anchorage call it Skanchorage (as in, skank) -- Southeast Alaska is MUCH more beautiful. I found it funny that since Expedia couldn't find enough nice things to say about Skanchorage, that this video went on to Girdwood and Seward instead! LOL.

Only visit in the summer. Winter is long so most of the residents are depressed Nothing to do except drink so you will see lots of drunks.

It's CHEW-gatch, not CHEW-gotch (Chugach) State Park around 1: 50.
Beautifully filmed job of an incredibly beautiful part of the USA.

Lived in Anchorage for a few years, loved it, this was in the 1990s, I hear the crime rate has gone up, not sure why. Great memories!
