Day 4 - Everest Base Camp Trek Passive: OMG you guys have shattered all my illusions about Everest! I literally thought every body gathered at base camp as the only place in the mountains. I did not there where villages and towns filled with hotels, monasteries, good food and thriving communities operating on average 3000 ft above sea level. Never would I have ever thought. You have barely roughed it, the accommodation looks good. Thank you so much for opening up this world to me. Bless you!

the -orange robes- are actually a saffron color which is the appropriate description for the monks of southeast asia. they are Theravada buddists. the monks of nepal, tibet wear maroon robes and often have additional layers for colder weather and practice a tibetan buddism. my half-brother's father is a buddiest priest.

What a trip on a trip! Now you see the challenge of airline food. The alt in the plane is close to 10- feet. Food taste nothing up there so to speak. The only time I drink a Virgin bloody Mary is onboard an airplane. I like the music for the last 50 episodes. From mellow jazz to this. Good job!

Why did you go via Tengpoche when there is a much more impressive high scenic trail on the opposite side of the valley? Mong La - Phortse - Pangboche trail offers amazing views high across the valley, lots of wildlife and almost no trekkers. Tengpoche monastery can be visited on the way down.

Started watching your videos a year ago and now decided to look back on the older ones, I am loving all of it. You've both come such a long way in your travels and filming/editing skills.
Also, my toddler always waves and says hello to kara when I'm watching -

Kara-s personality is great! Love her enthusiasm and positivity for what looks like a very tough journey. You took out a lot of $ in Namche just for meals i assume? How much did you spend for the whole trip everything included with flight and porter and all?

I feel like this is the moment they really elevated their vlog style. The videos suddenly have more of a visual narrative built in and really good use of b-roll. I-ve been watching again from the beginning and it-s so fun to see them just get so talented

The Nepalese are the strongest people in the world I think. The British army have employed Gurkhas which are Nepalese soldiers for the last 200 years because of their fearlessness and loyalty. They're lovely people the Nepalese aren't they

Ive been watching almost all your vlogs and both of you are such troopers. One thing I noticed, that even though you find something not good, you make it sound like its not that bad. I love how you enjoy your trips.

Watching this allows me to experience this beautiful part of the world without the hard work of doing it myself which at my age would lead to a heart attack - I feel like I-m experiencing it along with you both
