Khiva (in today's Uzbekistan) was an ancient trading post/oasis on the Silk Road. The inner town of the old Khiva oasis - Itchan Kala - is encircled by walls up to 10 m/33 ft high, dating from the 10th century. It is site of many amazing architectural ensembles. Itchan Kala is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Thank you, dear Sir, for all these trips offered under your care. When I see this documentary rich in photos of a specific urbanization in harmony with the environment and local materials, it makes me travel through the previous time which forces me to ask certain inevitable questions to know: at home we can also observe the disappearance of certain animal species as is the case here because of our abundant civilization of toxic chemicals harmful to so many species that share with us this land space or not? You who made this journey in flesh and blood, much better than we can give you a clue on this worrying subject? NB / my language is French, it may be that there is bad agreement between language in my writings. All my excuses

You have the best travel videos on YouTube Great quality, no talking, not too short, not too long, places clearly labeled, and superb editing. I feel like I can really get a good feel for these places. It was your Rwenzori mountain video that got me and my husband excited to plan a trip to Uganda. Thank you for sharing these and also taking time to go into the comment section to answer people's questions.

I love it And perfect music. The only problem is it ended too soon. Are you working on publishing a book on how all this travel has changed you? Or are you saving that for your retirement? I would buy that book in an instant. You could be writing it on the plane. Along with the unique unexpected adventures I'm sure you've experienced. You must have a very huge notebook by now.

Absolutely breathtaking. So much ancient history so completely preserved. Thank you for sharing this amazing experience with all of us, very few of whom will ever get to experience the beauty of these exotic places in person. Can't wait for your next posting.

I just finished watching a TV documentary about the incredible wood carvers in Khiva, and when I Googled it, I saw your video link. Loved seeing more of Khiva, and the soundtrack was just perfect. Thank you.

Im shooting with the Panasonic GH5 for the summer in Bali and Lombok. The footage is nice but I'm looking to go back to the camcorder. I prefer the in camera stabilization. Are you happy with the Sony?

Interesting footage here, the architecture is unusual, the tiled minarets are impressive structures. You certainly are getting around, I have not seen footage from Uzbekistan before. Great stuff as usual.
