Katrina Herrero: I've lived in both states and completely agree with your assessment. Florida's beaches are beautiful, but the state is too flat and wet. California is beautiful and intriguing everywhere. More should have been mentioned about the Latin culture in Miami because tourists who don't speak Spanish can feel unwelcome there whereas I've never felt that way anywhere in California; this comment comes from someone who speaks Spanish fluently. However, crime has been rising in California over the past decade, making everyone (residents and tourists alike) feel unsafe; watch your valuables carefully, and don't leave anything in a car, locked or otherwise.
