Flying British Airways Business Class on their Shortest Flight from London! Jay: No iD is required because you flew a domestic flight, people in the UK do not need any id to get on a train, coach or drive to anywhere within the uk (i. e Manchester) and the machines you went through use biometrics which recognise your face. Because of this BA see no point in ID checks if you fly domestically, but it might be a good idea to carry a form of iD anyways just incase (you never know)

Great work by the crew here!
As crew myself I think the most intense service I've done was MAN-LCY on an Easter Sunday, with a full load thanks to no trains running to Euston that weekend and a gate to gate time of 44 minutes. Economy snack and bar service for 84 people delivered single handedly and cleared in with time to spare! Still don't quite know how I managed that.

What a fun review! It reminds me of inter-island flights here in Hawai'i. I remember one 25 minute flight from Lihu'e Kaua'i to Honolulu. My seat mate showed me how to drink 3 beers in that time. I won't do that again. I was still burping 2 hours after landing. But that Hawaiian Air crew also worked as hard as the crew on your flight.

Nice take off vision. I would probably get the train in 1st class. Like you I am amazed they were able to serve some decent food and a glass of vino on such a short flight! Not to mention clotted cream with the scones! Great review and well done on commending the fantastic crew ( who have probably done this many times before)

Thing that annoys me is the slow aggregation of the BA product. European business class is shocking, there is no reason why the business class seats cant be changed and be the best in Europe, cant be hard. My biggest gripe is the staff are really good and the name value carries but the product is underwhelming.

How could you have three bar service rounds in 30 minutes? That wouldn't be possible. You wouldn't even get one complete round done. I don't believe that. And that would mean you were having an alcoholic drink every ten minutes? As well as food and afternoon tea? That doesn't make sense.

I took a flight from Manchester to Hamburg with easyJet. They didnt manage to get the trolley past the the first third of the aircraft. I can still remember the shock on the flight attendants face when the pilot said cabin crew, prepare for departure. This flight was 1hr 20-30min.

Hi Noel
A great trip report, its about time BA were delivering a good product. I see lots of trip reports and they aren't good which is a shame for our national carrier. I am even more pleased that you complimented the staff for their hard work.
Kind regards
DS

Brilliant!
Were lucky to get a canned drink or bottled water on a half-hour domestic Flight here in the States. Love this level of service youve received here!
(And Im wondering too how the cabin crew gets it all done so quickly)

Maybe it's a new policy, I always thought it was some form of ID on domestic flights but no passport was required. Flew EDI-LHR and back twice this month and wasn't asked for ID on any of my 4 flights, just the boarding passes.

You need try Sri Lankan business class from Heathrow to Columbo. It is amazing, probably one of the best BC products out there! Great customer service, fantastic seat configuration and the best food and drinks Ive ever had on a plane.

Take note of that Air New Zealand 777. While you're going on one of the shortest flights in Europe, that 777 is literally going to the other wide of the world on the longest flight in the world including a stop at LAX.

i used to do this flight a few of times a year the service is great - T5 is great and then you get to the dump that is Manchester terminal 3 where you have to walk outside often in the rain to get to that station.

Your community need to do voice overs only, so irritating seeing bloggers film & its awkward not knowing if your in the video. Good content but less of you & more voice over. This goes to all in this hobby

I thought Jersey was their shortest, the last time I flew this route
LGW-JER with BA, it took us 28min. As well, I believe most of BA
domestic flights leave from the north A gates at LHR.

I've done the LHR MAN flight many times and I must concur that the staff work their socks off. Went out on the 09. 00 and returned to LHR on the 17. 00. Same plane, same crew, brilliant!

When you say 3 bar rounds, did they come out physically with the cart each time or top up walking through? As Ive flown to Marseille which is 1 hour 20. There was 1 bar round.

I am amazed at that service and yes, I would pay for Business Class on that flight. you definitely would not find that kind of service here in the US now and what a shame. Thanks.

Noel, your such a BA promoter, I dont know why (free points) I traveled business class from Heathrow to Scottsdale, what a nightmare! Rude staff, dirty old 747 and overpriced.
reply

Well done BA, they sometimes get a lot of stick but credit where credit is due.
Just need that nice FA to serve me 33 drinks on the 11 hour flight to LA now.
