Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide We roam the region of Castile, starting in Toledo so well-preserved and packed with cultural wonder that the entire city has been declared a national monument, on to Segovia for a festive day out with the locals, then to vila for a dose of medieval architecture, finishing with a traditional stroll in Salamanca's Plaza Mayor. 2004 Rick Steves' Europe

Muchas gracias Rick! I visited Madrid for my first time recently and took a wonderful day trip to Toledo; your excellent video here is allowing me to see what I missed. I particularly appreciate your reverence for the great El Greco; seeing his work in person was a highlight of my visit to Spain. Question: Do you have a favorite hotel recommendation in Toledo? Something historic with character?

Exiled the jews and kicked the Moors and the comments about the Algerians of Southern France the commentary from Rick Steves. I think they were both kicked out. I enjoy your shows but its very much like touring with a mildly racist grandpa but well meaning in a post war way.

Unfortunately Toledo has a Starbucks. The local cafes on Toledo serve delicious coffee. No need for Starbucks anywhere really. Spain serves good coffee at local cafes. Keep Starbucks out of Europe.

You forgot to mention Christopher Columbus (Cristobal Colon) asked permission to prove the world was round at University of Salamanca! Permission was granted.

There was so original in Spain with everything over there it could be living as a desireless guy like me. I love Europe much more than China!

I just got back from there because of a study abroad opportunity. It was one of the most life changing experiences. I cant wait to return
