Mike, tell your dad for me that I agree with him 100% about the aging process and how everything starts to feel just a bit surreal the older you get and that yes, time does become tremendously compressed with each year that passes. I turned 70 this year and can honestly say I just started feeling bodily aging issues within the last 2-3 years. Back problems that I glossed over for decades are settling in to haunt me and more recently my hips are starting to give up on me. Thankfully I am still fully mobile, just very aware of my own approaching fragility, tho pretty much still in denial over what my future may hold for me. Mentally everything still seems to be working well, tho I have noticed a slight downward drift in my attention span and short term memory.
I remember that as a child, once I had the math skills, I figured out that I would be 46 in the year 2000. At the time, that seemed impossibly old to me, as I had absolutely no frame of reference to allow me to imagine it. It would be hard for me now to explain what age I feel like versus my actual chronological age. All I can say is, even though I've been 70 for 6 months now, I still have tremendous trouble wrapping my head around that fact, because I definitely don't feel like I am 70. I feel my aging in my body's physical health, yes, but other than that (not so minor detail, I feel like, I don't know. maybe 30 I'm still making plans plans for myself for at least the next 20 years, maybe longer. Lucky for me, I have the longevity gene in both sides of my family (several 100 yrs on both sides, so I don't fell like my hopes are all that unrealistic.
All that being said, I really enjoy your episodes that include you dad. I'm not a huge fan of fishing or hunting, but he's such a salty comic guy, he always makes me laugh, and I really enjoy watching the way the two of you interact with each other.

Heading to London from Utah for my wife's identical, twin sister's wedding.
Going to be there from November 25 to December 10
Wanna try and make it out of the city to see some countryside. any suggestions
I would like to make it up to Scotland to see where my Mac Baird family came from, but that will be too far from our homebase.
Great to see you and your dad out he acts like a young 45-year-old with caution to the 9 degree wind and fishing past midnight.
Blessings on your house

Hi Mike it was great to see your dad and you collaborate again. I was the one who encouraged you dad to come to Military Oddessy Reenactment show this year. We had a big chat about it by the communal Fire at the Bushcraft show. it's Great to see father and son enjoying the great outdoors together and your banter is amazing to see. hope you all have a great Christmas break next month. See you both hopefully around at next years show season.

Hi Mike, it’s always cool to see you with your dad. I never got to do things like that with my dad. I’ve only been fishing once in my life. But, I did catch a good size fish. We were able to keep it and eat it. I caught it when we were scouts, camping. Anyway, it’s always good to see what you’re up to. I especially enjoy seeing Jax along with you on your adventures. Take care.

I love your dad! Tell him I have the same thing! I used to feel 25. now I feel in my 30's. I've a 40 year old daughter (nearly) lol, our brains do not age at the same rate as our bodies thats for damn sure! . BTW nip along the coast to Worthing. I'll stand ya a coffee and the fishing is better but the view at night not so much!

Great video, nice to see you all together,
Doesn't mean, for me that is, that TA Outdoors & TA Fishing should always mix up.
But sometimes, it's just nice to see you working together!
Thank you Mike & Michael (if I got the names right)
It was pleasant to see this original mix of bushcraft & fishing!

Totally Awesome Mike,
Really good to see you and your dad out and about messing around in the woods.
I cherished the times I spent in the New Forest with my Dad and uncles, all sadly no longer with us.
These videos make me really happy, also makes me miss them.
Nice one Mike

Watching this and remembering the scorching summer 2022. Sat on the beach with my best friend of 30 years my wife and my brother at north landing Flamborough eating freshly caught cod and mackerel! Good times, sadly lost my friend to cancer in December last year ( only 45). Miss you Ricky pal.

Mike.
I've really missed having you and your dad in the same video, there's just something magical about the two of you together.
I miss Hayling island, haven't been there in years, sadly no family left there.
Now I need to go to TA Fishing and watch another video, I'm so far behind.

Your Dad looks great. I'm in Florida and we always called those little sharks Sand Sharks. Also tell Dad that this Southern lady can tell him for a fact that he will never win an argument or bargain with a Southern Lady. We never back down and always say just what we think. Great story.

Great video with your dad. I'd love to see more like that, please Be wary of using a lot of coal in your fire frame. Use some, but not exclusively, as it will buckle the metal work. I had something similar that was concreted into the garden back in the 70's. It worked a treat.

This video was so fun! First 1 I’ve seen with your dad, but I’m a newish follower. Your dad has so much knowledge, I could listen to him talk for days, learning from his stories. Can’t wait for your next time camping together Mike!

Can you do an episode on Dadding! Now that you are a dad as well can you share your family wisdom, because I want nothing more than to have a similar relationship with my son that you have with your dad. You must have some great tips for us.

I'm still amazed that we can still Beach Fish in the UK without people complaining. Here on the NorthWest Coast people Nightline or use Tidal netting to cash Fish. You use what ever Techniques suit your Coastal Fishing.

perchasing. HAHAHAHAHA Graeme reenacting the perchasing of a grill is hilarious. I'm definitely laughing in southern. Southern women do drive a hard bargain. Jax looking at Graeme like he's lost his ever-loving mind. LOL

Great viewing.
My dad’s the same age as yours and hasn’t stopped since he retired.
It’s good to see.
The more you keep going the longer you’ll keep going.
