We finish building the roof of the off grid bushcraft workshop. We build some rails on the side and close in the back walls with woven hazel. To fully waterproof the shelter, we lay wovel hazel panels on the roof rafters, and then secure a tarp over this. Because the tarp looks out of place, we add layers of dry bracken to the top which gives it a more aesthetic look. Now the carving shack is ready for some woodworking projects!

Hazel fencing: here in Manitoba Canada, I've seen people make that fencing out of the willow that grows here in the river bottom. Then they put it in the ground like you have, only the other way so that the thinner long pieces are in the ground. The reason being: our river bottom willow will transplant if its touching the ground and it's at all moist. It makes a self maintaining fence.

Two weeks usually for my back to get better this last time it was close on 3 months, the older you get. Never noticed that fence behind before is it new? Knocking the pegs in, first time he missed it the second time he hit it in the same place. Great video keep it up gents.

If you need to make a quick level, just put together an ancient Egyptian level from woodscraps and string. Make an Isosceles triangle and then hang a plumb bob from the apex of the triangle. Or for that matter make the triangle 90 degrees and you can also use it as a square

Thank you for your videos, they are the main inspiration for a workplace I have been working on in the lockdown period! I was using modern tools and the whole structure is a bit wonky, but I am fairly happy with the result. Good luck with you r shack man.

have you tried Willow bark for your back pain? and when I hurt my lower back I put some whole cloves in some EEVO and let it boil than turn the stove to low for 45 mins, than rub over your back several times a day

Really reminds me of building a sukkuh, as a Jew on our sukkot holiday we build a sorta shack to eat and sleep in for a week, (typing it makes us sounds nuts but I guess we are) and that's kinda it

Maybe those helicopters are scouting your camp. for a new movie. Lol As long as it's not big brother. It sounds like the birds are enjoying your company as well as less air traffic. Camp looks good.

Great video as usual thank you for sharing. I love how you interact with your dad, he reminds me of my late father who was always smiling even though he suffered from terrible back pain.
