We just came back from St. Petersburg and Moscow. Beautiful Full of great buildings and museums. People are friendly and helpful. New Russian cuisine is fantastic. There is only one thing I wonder if I am right. The gold colour they painted for renovation of the palaces are too bright and do not look good. I think there might be better shade of gold colour. It is a bit like renovations of a lot of Chinese palaces and temples in China. They just used bright colours to paint over them and they do not look harmonious. I believe the colours of the old times are not like this. They were more harmonious and delicate.

i would remove Vladivostok as its very unpleasant to stay there and add Derbent - probably the oldest town in Russia (appr. 2000 y. o) in southern Dagestan, ancient city on sea. By the look at this city tourist would probably realize how diverse Russia is. Also maybe Pskov or Vyborg instead. There are a lot of nature landmarks that werent mentioned but it just would take too much time to list them. you may just google. Russia is really great for adventurers and nature lovers.

I live in Moscow all of my life, but if you aks me, what is the 1 place in wishlist to visit in Russia i would say: Definetly Far East of the Russia (Chukotka and Kamchatka, Sakhalin island, Vladivostok, Habarovsk, Yujno-Sakhalinsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Magadan etc. Nature of these places is just unbelievable as i saw here, on youtube) Hope someday i'll do it.

Wait a minute, where is Kamchatka region with its volcanos? And I bet that a half of a Russian people have never visit all these places. I'v visited just three of them My country is too big to travel, and too expensive for locals

Kazan cathedral is in St. Petersburg, NOT in Kazan. And lake Baikal is NOT 25 million years old, it's little over 6 000 years as the rest of the planet Earth, shame on you for misleading people.
