There is so much beauty in the older style victorian homes, which I seen in this video. Sedalia is a town full of these type of homes. Most of them are approx 100 years old, but in good condition as they've been kept up with. There is a beauty standard they used during that time frame that you just don't see a lot of today. It reminds me of how different the women dressed, wearing those fancy old-style dresses. These people had so much class that I wonder what they would think if they would see how things have changed. Not just in the styles, but how people speak.

The trifecta. Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and Dollar General. I like it.
Before I retired I used to drive through the Bootheel a couple times a year either to Little Rock, Memphis, or New Orleans and it seemed there was always a crop duster flying and then harvesting cotton in the fall.
Just wondering. The Bootheel is actually the Mississippi delta prone to flooding. I can remember them sandbagging along I-55 to keep the flood waters off the road, this might be a lot of the reason these towns are shrinking.

You love architectural, please consider doing a video of St. Joseph MO, home of Jesse James and the Pony Express. The homes on Hall St are absolutely amazing and built in the 1800's, The Wyatt Estate was magnificent in it's time and had slave tunnels to free the slaves. Noyes Blvd. and Lover's Lane are other cool streets. Famous singers loved to visit Hall St when they were in the area. Thank you for your videos. I live on Maui but miss the Mainland sometimes.

Missouri government is a mess. We have our second AG who is wasting taxpayer money filing frivolous lawsuits against other states and anything that has nothing to do with the interests of the citizens of Missouri. Our governor isn't necessarily a bad man. He just doesn't think that the governments job is to represent the people unless they are wealthy. Our legislature is a dysfunctional mess who serve to represent themselves and their own interests only.

Go north from Kennett on Hwy 25 to small towns of Holcomb Clarkton and Malden. If you follow 25 hwy you will see small towns all along the way. Hayti isn’t sounded out as Haiti. It’s Hay Ti sounded out and Caruthersville is not as you stated it. The u is sounded out as uh. Caruthersville. I love your show. I live in Clarkton. If you visit here you can see where the earthquake divided the soil type from town of clarkton east to Gideon

The Walmart closer because there's a super Walmart right across the river in dyersburg Tennessee and it was a super Walmart
Show Mr Walton directed everyone to that store because it was bigger and it made more money
We could still support that little Walmart it just did not bring the waltons
You really should have done your research and you would have known more about what you were talking about

In hayti
If you had driven down by the hospital you'd have seen some homes in the two to 300, 000 range and higher very very nice neighborhoods you just have to turn off in more or less the slum part of hayti except for heights
And the heights would be another reason that the crime rate it's so high and if you've done your research and found out who lives in the heights you would understand why

. I would bet most of the millennials that you speak of think they need. Granite countertops a pool in the backyard. Whatever they look at has to be moving ready with no fixing up what show ever. Most of them are just a bunch of spoiled brats who want it all right now.

What you're not seeing there is the years of extractive timber harvesting, that built St Louis and Chicago, followed by generations of sharecropping. You really can't study that area without talking about Robert E. Lee Wilson and Oscar Fendler.

I live in Dexter and love this little town. Personally we have everything you need. It would be perfect if there were a few more dentists receiving patients and maybe an oral surgeon. This is the only thing i have had to leave town forr.

I live in Missouri and love this state and its hillbillies so much, I also live in a more wealthy area on I70 in Jackson county about 45 minutes from Kansas City.
Typically the farther east you go in Missouri the worse it gets.

It’s always astonishing to me the propensity for people to collect derelict cars and trash and dump it on their property. Sadly I believe many of those awful houses are indeed lived in. Makes you count your blessings.

Well this was certainly depressing. The towns look like redneckville probably was never all that prosperous with maybe 1 or 2 businesses that actually produced something and when they closed or moved so did the town.

I really like your videos. On this one it's pronounced Cruthersville and Hey-Ty. Very high poverty rate and crime rate, but as an outsider some of the best folks I've ever met in my life live there too.

I love Missouri. But it's been rough watching the state go through so much destruction and poverty. The violence in the cities is higher than ever before. I don't see Missouri turning back time.

I grew up in this town. Nice people. It makes my heart hurt to see the town so devastated.
My mom sold her house 4 years ago. Glad she doesn’t live there anymore.

I think that deserted trailer park and sudden massive population loss may have been due to a sudden loss or decline of water resources.
