I remember being a kid, going to Lake Mead/ Hoover Damm and the water was so much higher. California had really drained us. Basically that white line in the rocks, mountains and islands, is where it used to sit. Most of those islands werent visible or able to be reached.
The only nice part about it now is, the scuba instructors take their classes down to the cities and equipment that was left behind, when they released the water.
You also used to be able to drive on Fremont where the Fremont experience sits now.

The lakes have literally been drying up around there. lake mead is almost gone now and it's only a year later(guessing that's when you were there. i suspect foul play.

Las Vagas is certainly NOT for the normies, that's for sure. Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
