Rivian has got a great lineup of features for you here, folks: -Everything controlled by touch screens that will last as long as your last cell phone. -Weird under-ass storage compartment that sacrifices even more bed length on top of whats already lost with your 4-doors. -A normal sized hood, even though theres no engine, that we just used for another small storage compartment. (We couldve moved things around to give you a longer bed, but nah)-Huge LED strips all the way across the front and back to distract fellow drivers and drain your battery faster. -Electric tailgate so when your batterys dead your tailgate is stuck. -Unibody design so you can feel like youre driving a large car, and because our target demographic doesnt actually haul anything. -No tow hitch, because our target demographic doesnt actually haul anything. -And so much moreSo you see, folks I bet you cant wait to get this wheeled, hipster gadget on a two-year lease with all the other over-priced electronic devices on your cellular bill.

Been driving pick ups Fords and Rams for 30 years. I like the concept and the possibility, the cost and the headlights will keep me out of it. My current RAM is a 14 that I bought used with 22K miles for 24K 1. 5 years ago, fully loaded. I have put 60k miles on it in that time driving between Houston and Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Alexandria La all under 300 miles single direction so as long as there are quick charge options, under 30 minutes to get me home, then that is not a problem. However I tow a car hauler tailor 300 miles quite often, what is the range then? If I have to stop for 30-60 minutes with a trail to charge that may be a problem, especially since charging station usually dont have room for a trailer. This is a truck, it needs to function like a truck and be as convenient as a truck when if come to WORKING. Dont care about trail riding or nature camping, I need my truck to WORK.

Its funny that everyone knocks it for the price saying well my base model F150 is great - Im sure it is, but you are not the target audience. Just like Tesla started with the Roadster and not the Model 3, this too isnt really trying to replace your cheap work truck (not an insult, just fiscally I mean. You cant beat Ford or GMC in the cheap parts game because they have billions in manufacturing and relations built up. You beat them by targeting people who want something more than the bare minimum and can afford the extra cost for something more unique. Once the masses are drooling over all the people on social media who could afford it bragging about it with crazy videos of it doing shit, they drop their affordable version and you get your little slice of cool too. Does it always work? No. Did it work for Tesla? Yes.

Love it. However, Mass Power grid outage and your toast. Everything else about it, Kudos How about Solar charge? How much is the cost to recharge. Versus, tank of gas cost each time. Caution. with exposure to lots of extra EMF. TOO MUCH EMF. can trigger Leukemia and more: (Insurance Companys. watch out for their cost to insure it for you. Do your research. I do love this truck. I own a Nissan Frontier year 2000 and the switch would be a Quantum Dream. But no. Quantum money repairs and maintenance allowed: )Furthermore, I would expect a Bumper to Bumper warranty for 7-10 years at least. since so NEW. kinks are going happen. How much to get new brakes when needed?

This is the ugliest truck ive seen in the last 15 years. If you dont need a truck, its a great choice for a truck. Nobody talks about pollution caused by burning coal to make the electricity to charge this 9, 000 pound behemoth. The bed is to short to haul anything and they dont say what the range would be pulling anything more than a coster wagon. By the way, didnt any body learn anything about putting money up long before the company has produced car 1 to sell from tesla? Hopefully these are issues are solvable before they hit the market. We need to go electric but also need renewables to charge the vehicles to make any good emvironmental impacts.

Ford, Chevy, Dodge & Toyota will be late out of the gate w/a pure, ground up EV Truck design. The best they can do is retrofit current platforms w/electric drive-trains/batteries. I suspect that will not be enough, as EVs are always best when designed from the foundation/frame up. Weight distribution/management is imperative since battery packs must be factored into the equation from the outset, rather than an afterthought. Nice Review Alex, cant wait to witness Early Adapters to Beta the first production run of the Rivian models. Ill jump in shortly thereafter

The truck is interesting. Unfortunately, like most new trucks, it is extremely overpriced. Even basic gas burners, new, are now priced at 30, 000. Thats way out of my range. Take a great deal of the tech out. I for one dont need a digital dashboard. Ive got my own phone for navigation and information. Simpler headlights and remove the self driving mode and lets see what the price would be. Get the price around 30, 000 then maybe. The money you save on gas would go straight to the payments, but I would still have a ten year plan. Thats way too long.

While I love the truck, I cant stand the way the front looks. Guess Ill get used to it though. Also the spare tire location is terrible. If you have a heavy load in the bed that cant be easily removed, then youre screwed. Wouldve made more sense if they had managed to have it in rails that slid out from the bumper or stored in the front. That said, Im probably going to be looking for one I can fix when these start getting into accidents/flood damage.

Allows gun cases. hands down, best comment. by far I like this thing. Price, although not a bargain is comparable with gas counterparts all things considered. And range is great. But I live in an apartment. Sides, energy density of Li batteries are not anywhere near that of even lowest Octane gas. And even fast DC charge time is prohibitive for any sort of long trips. So I guess Raptor it is: )

These two vehicles are pretty exciting I really like the look of the R1S, myself. If you put down a deposit, they must have at least guestimated a final price for you, Alex. What was it? Im assuming this is going to be another vehicle priced solely for the 2% (Tesla model S, model X, etc. Pretty cool, but if virtually no one can afford it, whats the point?
