I didn t hear any mention of a hybrid or plug-in hybrid version, and the absence of even a normal hybrid model should be a dealbreaker for most people these days.
I googled it, and VW might have announced something about hybrid tiguans? I m not actually in the market for a new vehicle now, so I haven t done any detailed reading, but AoA videos are enjoyable regardless.

VW has been killing it with these facelifts of this and the Arteon! For a 2 row crossover on the larger end of the segment, though, the GTI tune of the 2. 0T with 220 hp really ought to be standard or at least optional on the R-Line. I bet they could get similar fuel economy out of that, even with the increased power output.

Alex, those photos are of the short European Tiguan, not the Tiguan we get in North America, which is called the Tiguan Allspace everywhere else.

It's easy to criticize the Tiguan's third row. It is tiny. On the other hand, it has as much legroom as a Toyota Highlander's 3rd row.

Alex, You laugh at the Dodge Journey but if you put the VW's borrowed Aisin transmission in it, the Journey will be just as good.

I like it, but I d like a smaller version like they have in Europe. Think they ll bring one of their smaller SUVs state side?

Definitely needs more power and other engine options (hybrid/ PHEV. Otherwise the Tiguan is a very good vehicle overall.
