Elfin shits on all of the crap you fat bustards have there, it has 6 piston 355mm brakes (the biggest on all of the cars) and the most powerful car there, but yet again you say that it doesn't brake well and talk about how others are very powerful, clearly this video was sponsored and made to support someone else and increase their sales. guess what in Australia we have very strict motor vehicle standard and the only car out of the pack is allowed to be registered here is the Elfin because the rest are unsafe complete trash. dont make a video just to suck up, you going to test something give it an honest opinion.

This is a video meant for those of us who regularly buy & enjoy autocar magazine. Driving these cars properly & to the limits isnt necessarily for those who want to be entertained. Infact Colin openly admits hes more suited to written reports, its how they work. As for questioning the production of the film, remember that the photographers are there to shoot for the magazine, the videos are the second priority. Considering its free, you should appreciate it more. If you dont like, dont watch.

Prob with a 5. 7lt V8 is weight. Unless the chassis is tuned to handle the massive weight of this engine, the car is a dog (eg Elfin. Elfin are fitting new models with turbo 4 cyl engine and the car is now fantastic. A 5. 7lt V8 is awesome if towing a caravan or taking loads of kids to school but it should not be used to make a real performance car. For real performance you need min weight for max dynamics. A force fed or highly tuned 4 cyl will kill and old school V8 everytime.

A Honda S2000 engine weighs -350 lbs. LS7 weighs - 460 lbs. So you're looking at -110 lbs difference with a giant (300HP) difference in power and torque (338 TQ) and power curve. The added weight of forced induction would put it on par with the LS7 but would take a lot to get 300HP more from it.

I agree to a point - I've talked with lots of guys that just can't see anything better than an Aston, and let's admit there's lots better than an Aston.
But with this track day group the weight of a 5. 7L V8 throws everything off by miles.
I'd have the Lotus for sure.

since i'm ten i'm in love with the McLaren F1 GTR but i admit, that it is most likely that i will never be able to pay it and so i came up with a plan b: the ariel atom.
a little bit cheaper in everything, but quite astonishing performance - the better choice.

What a sad git, not because he likes cars but because he thinks any one would be intersted in his boring cliche ridden pap. surely not even the petrol heads would stay awake til the end of this rubbish. Get a life you tosser.

quite good fun. I-m not really into cars; just now and again but this was an unusual and quirky video and informative. A far cry from the world of Formula 1. Quite real. Cheers.

Great video, wish the picture quality was better. Recognize Suttcliffe, Prior, and Goodwin, but not the other journo, Frankel?
