This car is very appealing to me. I have a 2005 Elise and love Lotus cars, but the company sucks and always seems on the brink of collapse. The new V6 Exiges are great, but are track only in the states. This car seems to provide an alternative for those of use who like the shear fun of driving. I have an M6 and its wicked fast, but it is not nearly as fun to drive as the little Lotus. I just hope when this car hits the US later this year they don't pork it up as rumored to 2400 pound or so. I think that spoils it.

-High, actually, I can find a dry weight for a Mustang GT500 (properly a Shelby) that is quite far away from the 1570 kg that you state. At the same time, as Yves correctly underlines, the 4C comes for 53 k-, not 53 kPounds. And maybe the Exige is 53 in UK, but outside comes for ca 60 kPounds. And, I repeat myself, the point of the craftsmanship still remains. I don't know how much experience you've ever had with CF manufacturing. But believe me, it's definitely not like welding or gluing metal.

Let's say, impacts are unfortunately very unpredictable, so yes, CF could still be affected. My point was mainly that an impact able to crack the monocoque would already involve so many damages that the car would be useless to repair anyway or at least not economically wise to repair, especially with a low tag price like this (low compared to other CF cars. If you see the section of the sills of this car, they are really impressive (I would say a bit oversized, so with no direct impact on the

Hitman, this is true but not fully correct. A minor crash won't affect the monocoque since there are both front and rear aluminum structures (just like in an Aventador or an MP4-12C. Only a massive impact can damage the carbon fiber. On the other hand, you can damage it in a side impact. But consider that, in a 4C, your head is at the same height of the headlights of a small SUV. So, in both cases, the costs of CF repairs is a minor problem compared to the costs to fix your bones.

Yeah, where I live buying anything over 1930cc gets so many taxes that you simply forget about it, and gas prices are too high. Plus I bet the Mustang can't beat the way this drives around corners. 4C also looks WAY better.
On the other hand, crashing is not an option. There's always insurance to pay for it in case its totaled, but it would really be a shame to destroy it.

What's the point of an old guy's review of this alfa? He doesn't try to feel it, and speaks about interior quality and other unrelevant things. Come on, you have the chance to drive such a car, and all you do is mumbling about history and pretending that you're attacking turns!

I have no idea why people rave about how Alfa's look. I hate the look of a narrow, central grill. It looks like a guy getting his cheeks pushed together by a bully. The last few Alfa's have suffered from this. As has the Bugatti Veyron, and several Jags. All of which would have looked a lot better otherwise.

Ok, but what's your point?
Don't get me wrong, i like this car, but let's be honest here, you just can not compete in terms of performance and pricing. In the other hand If you want just to show off and look good the Alfa it's perfect.

Not be a showoff or anything but my s2000 has the same power with no Turbo. All stock with carpet and a six speed, and half the price. I'd rather keep it over the Alfa Romero any day. I don't see what makes this car so great. Just saying.
