The all-new Volvo XC60 has a touch act to myslecinaczej: I think autocar is hopeless. They basically prize the german. seems like paid by them.
And always emphasize car handling as the most critical characteristic of a vehicle!
They are not able to notice that some SUVs like this volvo has a high ground clearance and soem only pretend to be real SUV like Audi Q5 for example and consequently those with a high clearance will not drive in corners as fast. But instead a SUV with a high ground clearance will outperform the rest off road which is then forgotten (I guess intentionally) by the -experts- from autocar! This is just an example of ignorance or bias. there some others. Watch them for a while and notice!

LOL. You have different views from your autocar magazine editors. They trash this car and gave 3. 5 stars because they have to benchmark the drive against the Porsche Macan. But did they benchmark the Macan on comfort against the Volvo? No! Which would give the Macan a 3. 5 star rating. They are made for different purpose. This car is not trying to be a Macan. It is build for comfort, refine, ent and safety.
Autocar as usual, bottom of the line, same as their Magazine, shit quality.

Autocar is full of shit. Most of the times they contradict each others review. They seem to rate cars by how they take corners. Wft. Not all people who buy cars like to ride a stiff, bumpy and unconfortable car to use every. There are more people who want to drive and be in a comfortable car than drive or be in a jiggly uncomfortable sports SUV.

D5. four cylinder diesel. sounds wrong doesn't it?
I mean sure, modern four clanger diesels are very efficient, cheap to run, etc, but they still sound like a tractor stuck in a cement mixer.
The old five cylinder unit at least sounded a bit better when you gave it some.

Driving one tomorrow, I'm really looking forward to it! I already liked the new XC90 quite a lot. Great looks, simple and nice interior, great audio system, nice ride comfort. The 2 liter Diesel was pretty horrible though imo, felt to weak for the big car: /

It is now too expensive. It was a great affordable car but now it is trying to take on the F-Pace, X3, Q5 and GLC but it is a Volvo and not a top of the one premium range vehicle no matter how much Volvo tries. Nice car but way to expensive

Never understand why people slag this guy off. His reviews are always to the point and insightful, and his deadpan sarcasm always wonderfully sardonic. Anything but boring; British humour too low key perhaps?

Awesome review Matt! And interesting to hear someone other than me talking about the evolution of the SPA-Cars, that for each model they become just a bit better. Can't wait to drive the XC60: )

Very good point about the platform, finally getting the best out of it. That's why Volkswagen releases their car after Seat and Skoda release theirs for a given platform.

Front end is really nice. Rear end is too edgy and doesn't match the front. Seems like too different designers who doesn't talk to each other has done the job.
